It's the last day of school for International schools here and there are like 2 international schools within walking distance from my work place. I stepped out for lunch just now and the whole place was covered with white kids and some Asian "Americanized/Internationalized" ones too. It briefly felt like I had stepped in a time portal transported back 13 years ago - Cept my friends were too cool to hang out where all the other kids would hang out - we would have probably skipped the last day of school and hung out in some dodgy area in Mexico or something. 13 years ago because I believe 1995(1996 maybe?) was when I left Mexico and moved to VA - and I don't really think about those years I did high school in the states so as far as I'm concerned - high school ended at the 10th grade for me! :-P) Ahhh the memories of yearbook signing. Even the crying at the thought you weren't going to see some of your friends for 2 months! Or perhaps one of your friends was moving away forever so you'd cry and say something cheesy like "Friends forever"... Kids today have it soo much easier when it comes to keeping in touch. E-mails, cheap phone rates, skype, global text messaging etc..etc... When I was growing up at that age - the internet wasn't accessible just yet. It was either phone calls or snail mail...and for the lucky few FAXING!
I think I will make a couple surprise phone calls to my friends from that "era". I stopped talking to some over something very trivial but whatever - things like that are so stupid. How can you deny those people who played a big part in your formative years (and into my informative years too..hehe)...
