so maybe i should tell you about my life for the past three weeks?

so elliott (read: natalie joy the fairy boy) came in to detroit a few days later than expected, but decided to let me know he'd be sticking around for two weeks or so instead of the less-than-a-week initially planned. this was a Good Thing. that weekend was the Midwest Trans Youth Conference, in which we hung out with a [hell of a whole lot of] high-school trans kids which was absolutely insane and a lot of fun. we both felt rather old & elliott now officially has a fan club of rabid trans boys in southeast michigan super-crushing on him.

i srsly love these kids so much.

it seems that we are dancing. no, we are falling. to our deaths.

this is laura. i love laura. everybody loves laura.

because i mean COME ON.

and alas, a photo of me because i look damn good in it:

so there was that. dallas and their bandmate were at the tranny roadshow saturday night, and decided to stay the night at the apartment here in detroit on sunday. consequently, we had a little folk show in the courtyard with captn. oats, euphemisms and natalie joy. we made jackito lanterns. yes, we made jack-o-lanterns out of oranges. you wish you came up with this.

then, show:

i played and dallas played and elliott played and it was kind of fantastic. then, y'know, shit happened for a while and eventually it was halloween. costumes:

and

we were ice skaters. we crashed a party or two.

elliott left a few days ago and i'm a little ridiculous about it and sleeping in an empty bed again is strange. so i miss the boy, a lot. but alas, i'm aiming for a job with the youth program at affirmations (the host of the MTYC and second home to many of the kids i kind of love forever) and i'm starting to actually do things with my life, so that's a good thing. so there you have it: my existence the past three weeks. a lot happened in between but all you have to know is that i hung out a lot with good people and did absolutely nothing with the love of my life for two weeks. word.

oh, and a strange little thing: with no direct change in dress, mannerisms or anything of the sort, i'm ma'amed everywhere these days [when i don't open my mouth]. it's rather pleasant, also a reinforcer that maybe the two months of spiro has actually done something, also maybe enough to inspire more devout voice work. hm.

love etc, fucking rad, photo post, queer/trans
