He was sick of it all. Sick of Marianna, sick of pot, sick of one-night stands…especially sick of Marianna. Something about her made him clench up inside, made him scared. He didn’t know if it was love or lust or hatred, but he just wanted it to go away. So, he was going to Berlin, a quick train ride away. Stew looked out the window as the cars rattled their way into the city, night beginning to approach.

The train shuddered to a stop, and everyone got up, Stew included. He made his way through the swarm of people and stepped out onto the platform, a chilly wind greeting him. The platform was crowded with people, and Stew had to practically fight his way to the street, where a cab was picking him up. Except when he got there, there was no cab. And no buildings on the other side of the street. Just some iron gates and beyond them, a wide lawn. This…wasn’t right.

He looked around, bewildered. “…am I tripping again? Damnit.”

T: introducing Youth from Passing Strange! I'm calling him Stew as the show is semi-autobiographical and narrated by the rock musician Stew.
