pyroclasticgrub's Five Questions:

1) Penguins? What's the attraction?
When I was about five I was given a stuffed penguin as a Christmas gift from my parents, and for the life of me I can't remember what I called him then, but I call him Sir Penguin now. In any case he was my special companion when I was little and became an important part of my life. When I grew up I always remembered how awesome that little guy was, and transferred that love over to the real life penguins that make me "EEEE!" to this very day.

2) Why do you like Winnipeg so much?
Well, you said it yourself Mo when you mentioned that it had more per capita restaurants than any other city in Canada. See, as you know I do love to eat, in fact it's my driving force in life - I keep going because at some point in the immediate future I will get another chance to eat something totally new and totally amazing. Add on the fact that it's full of trains, history, beautiful buildings, vistas and people, plus home to one of my favorite people and her mom - well, there can no longer be any doubt, eh?

3) What's your biggest current dilemma?
My biggest current dilemma is what to do about my job. See, I hate it - to be blunt. It drives me crazy and for the most part I'm disillusioned and lacking any belief that it'll get better... but this is the training system and I'm told it gets better from here. Plus I'm good at. Very good at it.
So do I stick it out, in this place I hate, with people whom I would never bother to have anything to do with for any reason - in the hopes it gets better? Or do I change trades and find something I want to do. Tough, eh?

4) Cats or dogs?
Hands down, dogs. Cats and their aloof, selfish attitude annoy me, plus I've been the victim of countless cat-as-trophies/attacks. There have been plenty of cats that I've actually gotten along swimmingly with, but tons more who thought digging their claws into my face was an appropriate way of saying hello. I plan on owning several dogs, the first of whom will be my gift to myself for getting promoted to Captain.

5) Who's your favourite British comedian?
I would have to say Eddie Izzard, because his mix of smarts, sass and silliness is mixed just perfectly right. Plus many of his jokes are historical in nature, and require a little bit of knowledge, which I have. Check out "Do you have a flag?" if you're so inclined. Oh, he also speaks very good French.

meme-pires, devil with a red dress on, i've got soul and i am a soldier, his imperial highness, train-ing day, historically speaking, woof?
