a bit of truth.
If these guys literally get away with murder, torture, etc., and are given a free pass, this country is over. Seriously, we need the Spanish to indict our war criminals? Rule of law, hello?
It's hilarious now that the
memos are out that there is even a discussion about whether prosecutions should go forward. It is the law to

You did go read The Authoritariansright?
No. Is there some reason to?
It looks like some pseudo-psychological rationalization for why right-ists are evil, while left-ists are 'fair-minded' and 'calm'.
Both parties are Authoritarians.
I might go as far as to say the left has this built in as a key feature in their philosophy, but that's happenstance, as both bully with roughly the same degree of viciousness, given time/context, and the right's just giving lips service to the supposed'leave people alone'/small gov't aspect of their philosophy anyway.
Miles of difference between blowjobs from interns and institutionalized torture. Of course they all try to get away with stuff, and often do, but is it too much to ask that illegal torture camps don't make the front page of the Times for five years?
IF Obama is going to shut down the illegal torture camps and not merely out source it to either other secret facilities or hand these people over to other governments who will do worse?
This is to say nothing of the legal torture camps, where non-violent offenders are regularly raped. Obama has laughs when asked about any suggestion of legalizing pot, much less ending drug prohibition. Though since guards rarely actually participate, this is not "institutionalized torture", despite the fact it regularly occurs in American institutions.
Less torture is a good thing, assuming it takes place. My standards are a bit higher. I would like for no torture to take place for a start.
As long as you can be threatened with such there's little reason to engage in any sort of less/more negotiations, assuming any power at all.
What are we going to do, really?
Oooooh, GOOD QUESTION. We should all be thinking about that one.
I was mostly being rhetorical/cynical, if that wasn't given.
If your guy (or the distant approximation) doesn't get elected, pretty much all that's left to you is protesting, which can be ignored.
However, in a social realm I like to think differently.
It's not nearly as swift/'effective' as pointing guns and telling people what to do, but minds can gradually be changed.
I wonder how often people who advocate for others to be bullied through theft and force, and bother living by the ideas they want pushed on others.
Thanks for your attention and reply
