Textin' my friend about a bad bad dream, just had to tell someone that knows me...

It's that time of year again...the sweet smell of dead leaves and the crisp breeze is taking over the warmth and greenery. I generally love the fall because of the smells and the colors and the warmth of self-created comfort, but the overwhelming feeling of death and bad memories of this season make Fall even more bittersweet. Maybe that's why this season--more than any other--always requires a playlist. Last year's was a little more upbeat than this one, but I think this one has some solid choices, beats, and lyrics that blend together nicely to reflect how I'm feeling this fall.

Fall 2009:
  1. Modest Mouse - "Autumn Beds"
  2. The Kinks - "Strangers"
  3. Blur - "Best Days"
  4. Travis - "Sarah"
  5. Bishop Allen - "Flight 180"
  6. Conor Oberst and the Outer South - "Nikorette"
  7. Howling Bells - "Into the Chaos"
  8. Ingrid Michaelson - "Turn to Stone"
  9. The Airborne Toxic Event - "Happiness is Overrated"
  10. Regina Spektor - "Laughing With"
  11. Bishop Allen - "Corazon"
  12. Regina Spektor - "Eet"
  13. The Airborne Toxic Event - "Wishing Well"
  14. Howling Bells - "Nightingale"
  15. Kings of Leon - "I Want You"
  16. Richard Hawley - "Baby You're My Light"
  17. Conor Oberst and the Outer South - "White Shoes"
As I've said before, when things are going less than ideal in certain aspects of life, I tend to reflect it through music and playlist creations. It's easier to handle things that way, since talking about it just brings all those unpleasant things back to the present. Music helps me pack them away and move on.
