There is a group of people who have been going around the country, registering voters. According to the member of this group interviewed, they're fairly poor, and excited to be given a well-paying job and an essentially free cross-country trip.
They were hired by the Republican party. They get paid $5 for every Republican voter registered. And nothing for voters from any other party.
So, they've been throwing away non-Republican registrations.

IT WAS ON THE NEWS IN PORTLAND, WHEN A NEWSCASTER AND HER CAMERA CREW OUT INTERVIEWING CANVASSERS CAUGHT ONE THROWING AWAY HANDFULS OF REGISTRATION CARDS. THIS IS NOT AN EXAGGERATION. THEY HAVE BEEN TRAVELLING TO URBAN AREAS ACROSS THE COUNTRY. (YES, THIS MERITS THE FUCKING CAPLOCKS.)
If you were registered to vote by a street canvasser and have not received any confirmation of your registration, please please please call your local elections office. Today is the last day for 15-day in-person registration.
