Just another idea...
One of the big reasons I don't get much gaming in currently is that there aren't a lot of games going on in the groups I game with. No new campaigns starting, etc. Now of course that doesn't mean there aren't games going on nearby, just not ones I'm hearing about (or welcome to as the case may be).
I've been thinking today about that. I'm sure I'm not the only one around looking to get a game of Burning Wheel, or Sorcerer, or Hero Quest, or Dresden Files RPG going. I'm sure there are those out there with campaigns they'd like to run, those who want to get into those kinds of campaigns, and those who are able to host (or know of such places) that simply aren't in the same circle, and thus not aware of one another's existence.
I'd like to get a sort of RPG club going. It would meet once a week. Not to game, but to talk about gaming. What campaigns are you in, what would you like to run, what new systems have you heard about. It would be a place to network with other gamers and find people who would fit in with the campaign you've got coming up. Or to find a place to host that game you want to run, or who have a game you'd like in on.
As soon as I'm able to host I think I'll start doing something like that.
