For My Demons
It was nearly 8,000,000,000 years ago that the Heavens and the Earth were created. Of course there are two accounts of creation, old earth creationism, and young earth creationism. Both of them are right, yet are also very wrong. There's a huge gap in there. Humans weren't actually created until 6,000 or so years ago, but before them lived beings possibly mightier than they. Beings that were, and still are smarter, stronger, faster, wiser, and hotter than humans.
These beings were known as the celestial beings; otherwise known as angels. These were some of the first creations of God, and he created well over 600,000,000,000 different celestial beings. Each one of them carrying their own name, and rank, but only a select few were elect. These elect angels were given their own special roles, their own destinies that they were to follow. Most angels, however, were merely soldiers, or workers for the elect angels.
There were, and are nine orders of angels. Each order containing a leader.
There are seven archangels, each of them with their own roles and purposes. They are Michael, Gabriel, Raphael, Uriel, Anael, Tzadkiel, and Tzaphkiel.
Their are the four elemental angels. Michael - fire, Gabriel - water, Uriel - earth, and Raphael - air.
There are also celestial beings that are not angels, but are sometimes angels. These are the celestial beasts; beings that are the spiritual manifestations of the beasts that will come. The most infamous of these beasts is Samael, the serpent.
But their are other beasts as well. Michael is the spiritual lion; Gabriel is the spiritual man. There is also the spiritual eagle, and spiritual calf.
But, in this story, there are only a few that matter, and this story is mainly about Gabriel. Gabriel, always regarded as one of God's top angels. Many people never seeing any thing wrong with this being, but much like humans, angels have their own sets of faults, and weaknesses. They are not perfect. God has charged each one of them with folly.
Over 8 billion years ago, the celestial beings were made, and so was the Earth. The creation of the earth was such a joyous occasion that the angels couldn't help, but to rejoice, and sing together. Earth was a wonderful place, and these beings dwelt either in Heaven, or on Earth. For well over 7 billion years everything was just splended. Then, 994,000 years later, things took a nose dive. A group of angels decided that they didn't like being on Earth, and wanted to take over Heaven. Lead by Lucifer, these angels left their estate, and marched into Heaven. The battle that took place was long, and harrowing, and in the end a sixth of the angels lost their lives in battle.
Meanwhile, Samael lingered on Earth drinking tea.
After the battle, the Godhead decided that the celestial beings weren't the best keepers, and chose to create humans. Creatures of clay that would be both above and below the angels. They wouldn't have the powers of the children of fire, but they would be above them. The angels would be their servants. Many angels didn't mind this, but some of them expressed their doubt.
Michael's angels asked, “What is man, but an icon of clay? What is man that shall be above us?” For their crime, Michael's legions were annihilated.
Then Gabriel's angels asked, “Why therefore will you create new children when we have not strayed. They will be inferior to us.” For this, Gabriel's legions were erased.
Next, it was time for Labbiel's angels to voice their opinion. Knowing, however, that opinions would not be changed, Labbiel said to his group, “You have heard our Father, and seen what has happened to millions of your brethren. It is not wise for us to express discontent, for He has made up His mind, and shall not change.”
So, the angels of Labbiel said, “Glory glory glory be to God in the highest. He who gave us life, and shall give life to new children. Blessed is He, Holy Holy Holy!”
They were saved. The angel once known as Labbiel had his name changed to 'Raphael', because he had rescued his legions.
But, all was not well, for there was one angel that despised this plan with every fiber of his being. He was the angel Mavathael; one of the angels of the order of the Dominions. He was neither a high ranking, nor a low ranking angel; he just was. He was there, and he had his role to play. This angel though, loved his brethren, and claimed to love the Godhead. Maybe it was for this reason that Mavathael did not take well to this new plan, and he voiced his opinion fiercely.
“Father? Why are you doing this to us? Why will you create inferior children of clay when you already have children surrounding you? Why will you persist on creating children that shall only leave you, when there are many of us who have never left our estates??”
They spoke, but the angel grew only angrier. “You are making a big mistake! These children will only spit in your face! They will mock you, they will seek new lords, all because they are inferior to us!” he looked around at the hosts of Heaven, “Do you not see the children you already have?!”
Finally, Gabriel stepped up to this angel, “Mavathael, calm down. I'm sure our Father knows what He is doing,” she said to him.
For the briefest moment it seemed that Mavathael would reconsider, but that was short lived when he emitted a growl from his throat. “You would dare betray your own brethren, Gabriel?” he hissed.
“I betray nobody, but I follow our Lord, and you would be best advised to do the same,” Gabriel told him. Her demeanor calm, cool, and collected.
“Making a big fucking mistake, Gabriel. Choosing to be slaves to these new children that God wants to create.”
Gabriel never wavered, but the other angels watched, hanging on every word. “I am positive that our Father would not create cruel beings to rule over us,” she told him.
He looked at her with utmost curiosity on his face, and finally asked, “How do you know Gabriel? How do you know that these creatures will not be cruel and heartless?”
“Because I trust in our Lord, and our Father,” the other angel said to him. “He has never been cruel to us.”
“For crying out loud! He just annihilated Michael and your legions!”
Gabriel shook her head, “He had His reasons for doing so.”
“Maybe, maybe I should just leave!” the angel finally told her.
“Or maybe I can kill you myself, hmm?” Gabriel said to him, a touch of anger in her voice, as she pulled out her sword, and held it against the other angel's chest.
They were both surprised when God said to them, “Gabriel, you will not kill Mavathael. For he has served his purpose, is serving his purpose now, and will always serve his purpose.”
“But, Father, he,”
“Do you doubt me Gabriel? Strike him when you may, but destroy him, and your punishment will be swift.”
Gabriel nodded her head in understanding, and quickly sheathed her weapon.
Mavathael growled, still obviously disgusted by the entire thing. That was when God banished him from Heaven, stripped him of his name, and gave him the name of Mephistopheles. A fitting name for a now fallen angel who loved not the light. Of course Mephisto didn't leave right away; no, he had to convince a sixth of the angels to join his cause. He convinced them that they were mightier than any children of clay, and that they should be the rightful rulers along with God. They took the bait, and left with him.
Heaven was a darker place after that rebellion, yet, the angels knew it would only get worse.

May 28th, 1986.
It had been a very long night for Robert Bristow and his wife Jennifer. It only seemed that yesterday the young woman had discovered that she was pregnant; granted, it wasn't planned at all, but the couple decided to keep their unborn child. They didn't want the sex of their child being known, and for a while they believed that they would indeed have one child. They would soon learn however, that Jennifer was pregnant with twins. Instead of one child, they would have two, and the couple didn't know what to think exactly.
The 27th of May hit, and by nine pm, Jennifer had gone into labor. After a grueling number of hours she finally gave birth to her first child; a baby girl who came out quiet. The doctors had to make sure she was alive; she was of course, and expressed her discomfort finally at being torn from the womb.
In a few minutes a baby boy was born. He came out wailing, and crying. He stopped though at seeing his sister, and when they were held by their mother, both of them seemed content.
Robert and Jennifer still didn't know what to think about this new course of events, but they knew that they'd have to make do with the situation. They decided to name their baby girl Rachel, and her brother they named Patrick.

Aunt Carol was a very religious woman; the type of woman who went to church all the time, and tithed, and preached the gospel to anyone who would actually listen. Of course there was nobody she wanted to preach to more than her niece, and nephew. She tried every week to tell them about Jesus, but Rachel said that she couldn't believe in a man she didn't know existed; and Patrick claimed that he couldn't trust a hippy.
Finally at wit's end, Carol decided to meet up with the preacher of her church, a man named Kevin Childress. He was a self proclaimed man of God, and the leader of a very charismatic church. Followers said they loved his wisdom, and charisma. Critics said he was of the Devil, or just full of bullshit.
Kevin was also the fallen angel Mephisto.
Not that Carol needed to know this, yet.
It was March 7th, 2003 when the two of them met at a small coffee shop. It had taken some convincing from Carol for Kevin to meet her, but he finally obliged. When she arrived at the coffee shop in the evening she quickly found the shaved headed man sitting at one of the tables, already drinking a cup of black coffee. After ordering her own, Carol made her way over to him, and sat down.
“Oh, thank you so much for agreeing to meet with me, Kevin,” Carol exclaimed with a smile.
Kevin gave a very small smile back, and answered, “It's no problem at all Carol. Now tell me, what seems to be the problem?”
Carol couldn't help but to think of how caring this man was being. She answered, “It's my niece and nephew. Kevin, I've tried telling them about our Lord Jesus Christ, but they're just so blinded by the devil that they refuse to believe in the truth!”
She didn't notice when Kevin flinched slightly at the word Jesus. With a heavy sigh, Kevin took a sip of coffee, and pursed his lips in thought. Finally he looked at the woman, and asked, “How are the parents? Are they church going people?”
Carol shook her head, “No, they used to go to church at least during Christmas, but now they don't. It's like they've just stopped caring about God.”
Again, Kevin just sat there in deep thought, his mind going. He was of course thinking about how to destroy this family. In a couple of minutes something would come to his mind. “You say that your niece and nephew; Rachel and Patrick are twins right?”
Carol nodded her head. Kevin then looked downcast, and asked, “Are they very close to each other?”
Again, Carol nodded her head. Kevin took another sip of coffee, and said to her, “Have you noticed anything unusual happening between them?”
“How do you mean?” she asked looking confused.
“Do they only hang out with each other? Do they have a secret language? Are any of them dating?” Kevin asked.
For a moment the place fell into a silence as Carol thought of the questions. She had to confess that she never really paid that close attention to them. “To be honest I really don't know, Kevin.”
The young preacher took his last sip of coffee, and stood up from the table. “I will come over to your house in three days, and observe them for a brief time. I have a strong hunch that they could be possessed by demons, but I'll need to know what kind.”
At that, Carol looked fearful, “Oh dear Jesus I hope not!”
“Just allow me to handle it, alright, Carol?”
Carol nodded her head, and watched as the younger man left the coffee shop. She smiled, a feeling of relief washing over. She just knew that everything would be alright, and that soon both of them would be saved.

Patrick was laying on the couch; magazine in both hands, earphones in his ears; a bowl of chips on his stomach; and a soda on the table next to him. He was reading the latest issue of Revolver magazine; more specifically, he was reading an article about some melodic death metal band that was either going to make it big, or fade into obscurity. He continued to read while listening to some metal songs, and eating chips; he never noticed when Carol walked in with Kevin.
“Patrick?” Carol called.
He didn't hear her, and continued reading. Feeling thirsty, the seventeen year old grabbed his soda, and took a sip.
“PATRICK!!” Carol shouted.
That startled him, and he jolted almost spilling soda on the floor. When he took out his earphones he glanced over at Carol, and sighed. “What is it, Aunt Carol?” he asked. He then noticed the stern looking young man next to her, and asked, “Who's that?”
Carol looked over at Kevin, and with a smile answered, “This is Kevin! He's a pastor of the church I attend; and he is a very devout man of God.”
Patrick restrained from rolling his eyes. “Umm, yeah, that's great. Sooo...what exactly did you need me for?” he asked them both.
It was then that Kevin spoke up. “Patrick, your aunt tells me that you refuse to attend church; that you won't become saved.”
The young man looked at Kevin, and raised his brows. “Yeah, well, sorry Kevin, but I told everyone else what I'm about to say to you. I can't trust a hippie.”
Carol sighed, “How many times must we go-”
“Shh!” Kevin silenced her, “I want to hear what he has to say.”
This surprised both Carol and Patrick, but he continued. “I mean, in all the paintings he looks like a long haired effeminate wimp. I can't trust some deity that looks like he could be snapped in half by someone like oh say, Zeus, Odin, or hell, even Aphrodite.”
Kevin nodded his head. Inside he was grinning though. It was at this moment that he saw so much potential in this boy, and he wanted him for his army. “I see, well, tell you what, how about we agree to meet again, and I can show you how much of a wimp God isn't?” Kevin asked.
Patrick shrugged, and said, “Yeah alright.”
At that moment the front door opened, and Rachel stepped inside. Smiling from ear to ear she waved at her brother, and walked over to him seemingly oblivious to her aunt, and Kevin. “Hey Patrick, guess what?” she asked.
“Umm, let me guess, you got into Harvard?” Patrick asked teasingly.
Rachel snorted, “Noo, try again!”
Her brother pretended to think for a couple of moments, and answered, “I know! You became the school president!”
Rachel shook her head, and unable to contain her excitement she answered, “Greg asked me to the prom!”
Knowing that Rachel had liked this guy for a while, he couldn't help, but to feel happy for her. Standing from the couch, he soon gave her a hug. She returned the hug, and it was only then that she noticed Carol and Kevin. Releasing herself from her brother, Rachel looked at them, and said, “Hi, didn't see you here.”
“Oh, it's quite alright!” Carol said.
Rachel looked over at Kevin, and extended her hand, “Hi, I'm Rachel!”
Without touching her hand, Kevin just waved slightly, “I'm Kevin, the pastor of the church your aunt attends.”
Rachel retracted her hand, and nodded her head, “Really? That must be something.”
Kevin nodded his head. He thought about talking to her, but in truth he wasn't interested in her. No, he was at the moment only interested in Patrick. “It was nice to meet you Rachel,” he told her before leading Carol to the doorway.
“So, what do you think?” Carol asked.
He looked sorrowful, and sighed, “Miss Carol, I don't know how to say this, but the Lord has granted me with powers of discernment, and I saw something between those siblings.”
Carol looked horrified.
“There's lust between those two. If they're not already sleeping with one another, giving into their urges, I'd be pretty surprised,” Kevin continued.
Carol was about ready to cry. She just couldn't handle them being in that sort of relationship. “What, what can we do?”
“It's safe to say that demons are doing this, and thank God that He gave us a mighty weapon to deal with them! We can perform an exorcism on the boy, and afterwards he'll be cleansed.”
“Alright, please do that!” Carol practically begged him.
“Don't worry, it will happen,” Kevin answered softly. He excused himself, and exited the house.
Neither Rachel, or Patrick had heard the conversation.
*******
The knock coming from the door was loud. Even through the sounds of his music, Patrick could still hear it, and it was only growing louder by the minute. Nobody seemed to be answering. Rather disgusted, Patrick threw down his magazine, and quickly made his way to the door. He did not look at all pleased to see Kevin, and a group of men behind him.
“Carol's not here,” Patrick muttered bitterly before moving to shut the door. He was unable to do so due to Kevin's foot blocking the way. Before Patrick could say anything, Kevin made a motion with his right hand. All five men forced their way through the door. Kevin himself stepped off to the side, and watched as one of his men shoved Patrick against the wall.
“Dude! What the fuck!” the teenager yelled.
The punch to the gut silenced him as he doubled over in pain. One of the men wasted no time in racing to his side, and lifting the boy back up. The man then quickly pulled Patrick's arms painfully behind him, and looked at Kevin.
“Take him to the second room on the right,” he commanded.
The man proceeded to drag Patrick, but soon found his struggling to be annoying, and had to motion for help. A second man ran up, grabbed the boys legs, and lifted them up. Together they carried him into the room, and placed him on the bed. Patrick struggled against his captors, but quickly found escape impossible, and in moments his wrists were being tied to the bed posts, as well as his feet. Frightened, he looked around, and stopped when he saw Kevin. “What's going on? Why are you doing this?” he asked, terrified.
“Patrick, your aunt believes that you're possessed by demons, and I am here to cleanse them out of your body,” Kevin answered.
At that moment eight men in black robes carrying bowls of liquid came into the room, and proceeded to surround the bed; four on the right side, and four on the left. Kevin himself was now wearing a white robe with red trim on it. He positioned himself at the foot of the bed. The nine men said a prayer in a language that Patrick didn't understand. After finishing, they begin the exorcism. Kevin took hold of a cross, and held it straight at the boy bound to the bed.
“Hear the words of our Father.
O' you demons who dwell in this boy
in the name of Jesus Christ, I command you to leave!”
That was the cue for the eight men to chant, “Hye!” and sprinkle 'holy' water on the boy. The liquid burned, and Patrick tried to escape. He yanked at the ropes holding him, but soon realized that he would just get rope burn if he continued. He tried to calm down, but the men were still sprinkling him with water until Kevin motioned for them to stop. He took the bowl from the first man, and looked down at Patrick.
“Demon, I command you to leave this boy, and return to the abyss, in the name of Jesus Christ I command you!” Kevin shouted, as he slowly poured the water all over Patrick's torso.
Patrick screamed, and clenched his teeth. The pain was horrible, and he just wanted this to stop. He wondered how long this could go on, and quickly learned the answered. Kevin would proceed to pour all eight bowls all over the young man while commanding various demons to leave him. Each bowl of water felt worse than the last one before it; by the time the last one came, Patrick's throat was raw, and he had been reduced to whimpering pitifully. When all the water was gone, Kevin looked at the boy, and said, “You are finally free.”
Patrick, however, was now unconscious.
