[Meiling obediently sits, stretching out her injured leg. The wound is still bleeding, though nowhere near as badly as before.]

You're lucky I was able to. Under these conditions, carrying someone like you is far from easy.

[Sakuya rummages through one of her drawers and finds a needle and thread.]

I will need to come up with an appropriate punishment.

H-Huh? Why!? It's not like I started the fight or anything... he just attacked me outta nowhere!

Because I do not enjoy being given reason to worry. I can't remember the last time I was afraid, but I certainly do remember I dislike it greatly.

[She loops the thread through the needle's eye as she walks back to Meiling.]

Now, take off your clothes.

[lazygatekeeper]

[You can almost hear the ellipses here.]

I need to stitch your wound. Besides, your clothes are bloody and dirty.

[lazygatekeeper]

Oh. Right!

[And so, Meiling strips out of her shirt and pants, which she totally stole from Tony after her night of brainwashing.]

Do not flinch while I do this.

[Sakuya cleans Meiling's wound, sews it shut--which stings, but is not particularly painful--and then tightly wraps the wound with a cloth.]

R-Right...

[Meiling's trying pretty hard not to flinch. She's still not used to having a human's pain tolerance, but at least this didn't hurt nearly as bad as the initial wound.]

[the_devils_maid]

There. Much better. Keep off that for a few days. Now, let's see. I'll check you for any other wounds after I--

[Sakuy removes her own blood-stained outfit and places it over the back of a chair.]

--take off this bloody dress. I should be able to find ourselves a change of clothes after this.

[Sakuya roughly prods Meiling's stomach several times.]

Ow! Hey!

[Meiling holds up her injured hand. The cracked bones aren't immediately noticeable, but it'd be obvious when she refuses to move her fingers.]

I hurt my hand too... and that's it, really.

Here, let me see it.

[Sakuya holds Meiling's hand gently.]

[Meiling flinches again, but doesn't pull her hand away.]

I think I might've broken it when I deflected that weird drill-punch. Broke his arm while I did, though.

[There may be a bit of pride in her voice as she says this.]

And it likely healed immediately, meaning you accomplished nothing.

[She flicks Meiling's forehead. Sakuya then sits down on the bed next to her, still holding the other girl's hand.]

Sometimes I wonder just what it is I must do with you.

[She pouts a little.]

Well at least I didn't start the fight.

But you did not retreat. What would you have done had he hurt you worse? Your job is to protect the Scarlet Sisters. I never gave you permission to hurt yourself.

[Sakuya pulls out a handkerchief, spits on it, straddles Meiling's lap, and very forcefully wipes the dirt and sweat from the taller woman's face.]
