Rec Post: Writing on the Body
H'okay, so, this is one of my all-time favorite kinks, despite the fact that I haven't really written it.* It started, as it probably did for many people who have this kink, with the Ewan McGregor movie The Pillow Book (see icon). Fucking awesome movie, y'all; find a way to see it if you haven't. Bonus: the movie features bisexual!Ewan, still in the phase of his career where he will drop his pants in a movie at the least provocation.**
But anyway, body writing. Super-duper hot, and here are some of my faves.
Star Trek RPF: Chris/Zach
Names for Desire by smutjunkie, 2300 wds, NC-17
Another word, curving around Chris’ throat from left to right. “Concupiscence.”
Let's start with a fun one! You'd have to be dead not to be turned on by Zach writing polysyllabic words on Chris' skin in melted chocolate. In four different languages. Do not read this on an empty stomach

This was partially prompted by me. It's extremely sensual and melancholy and very, very angsty, Zach worshipping Chris' body with poetry until his own heart is empty.
A Kind of Poetry by medea_fic (part of her Captain Spanky series), 4480 wds, NC-17
It’s supposed to be an illustration of dominance, writing demeaning phrases all over Chris’s body, but Zach can’t stop chortling long enough to do anything much except fuck him.
Possibly pushing it a bit with this, as the writing isn't the focus of the story, but I love how it's used both as a mark of possession and (gentle, amusing) humiliation. I dare you NOT to imagine Chris with the words "I can jizz up to here" written on his chest.
Drip by greenappleseas, no wd count given, NC-17
"All that love and obsession, perfectionism, time, effort... All of it, poured into one piece of art," Chris breathes, and presses his lips to Zach's again. "I want you to paint me," Chris utters in a voice that is suddenly liquid heat personified.
Fingerpainting rather than writing, but (for me at least) it hits all the same buttons. There's wonderful emphasis on Chris' body as a canvas, plus all the sensual details of the paint smearing and drying on his skin.
Harry Potter: Remus/Sirius
Stigmatophilia by fleshdress, 526 wds, NC-17
Because the tattoos made Sirius more beautiful, not less. His very skin written upon like an exotic manuscript, his Sirius had brushed worlds that Remus never would.
I guess this should more properly be filed under tattoos or scarification, since the title refers to "arousal from a partner who is stigmatized (i.e., tattoos, piercings, scars)," but Remus essentially reclaims Sirius' body by rewriting his tattoos. My only complaint about this fic is how short it is! (But it was written for a month-long challenge, so I understand)
Lord of the Rings RPS: Dom/Billy
Ume no Hana by abundantlyqueer on InsaneJournal, 3000 wds, NC-17
Billy returns the bottle to its place, takes out a black brush-pen, and uncaps it. The strokes of the forming letters curve over the tracery of bones and veins, the ink catching minutely around the fine hairs growing on the back of Dominic’s hand.
This takes place in an otherworldy AU that the author doesn't fully explain, but that just adds to the strangeness and beauty of the world. Billy is preparing Dom (inside and out) for some type of highly stylized ritual whose dominant elements seem to come from feudal Japan. The best part: in hunting down this link, I found out that this is actually the beginning of a series!

The paint is cold on Billy's skin, but Dominic's hands are warm, his mouth even moreso, and Billy gives himself over to both.

Dom can't talk about it, but he can write. Very sweet and poignant, a really lovely way to communicate. Also, it took me for-fuckin'-EVER to hunt down this link, so you'd better read it! ;o)

The stretched muscle of his chest are taken up by what must be a page of strength and sigils curl round the dark olive flash of his nipples.
Okay, we've officially reached the part of my list where I'm reaching. But Vulcan-tattooed Spock is super-hot, the perfect mix of strength and insecurity.
Steady Hands by speccygeekgrrl, 2800 wds, NC-17, Spock/Sulu
No amount of meditation or distraction could possibly block what was already the most erotic sensation Spock had experienced in his life, especially not while also blocking out the emotions and surface thoughts transmitted easily between their hands.
I'm not much for rare pairs (yeah, I know I'm totally missing out), but Sulu brushing calligraphy on Spock's hands? While sharing a psychic link? And Kirk and Chekov natter on completely obliviously in the background? Yes, please!
I know I have more, but I didn't start tagging or saving URLs until I got into ST, so what I have is a ton of Word docs that my computer doesn't like to search through. But anyway, this is a start, and I do want to write some of my own very soon.
