And Sora had been begging for shortcake, and who was he to refuse his best friend?
Riku sighs gently, pushing open the window to let the biscuits cool on the sill, like a good little stereotypical housewifey. Really, Aerith had just taught him it was a good idea.
Pushing a stray strand of hair away from his face, he moves to the entrance of the house, settling on the stoop to blink around at the town and its recovery.]
... Well... I guess it won't take too long, at any rate.

IS THIS A THING THAT'S HAPPENING RIGHT NOW.
Riku stiffens, staring at the boy standing on the road with a mouthful of his shortbread in his mouth. But he's forgotten all about that when it's Roxas he's looking at, and he blinks stupidly for a moment.
Play it cool, idiot, he thinks numbly, but he can't help but still stand there like a moron. Finally, a stupid oneliner falls out of his mouth, and on the inside he winces.]

Roxas is a little different, sure -- but so is he, and he notes with a bit of an inward smirk that he's still taller. But then, Sora could never beat him in height, either. Even though Riku's stopped growing and Sora still has a year or so to go, it's looking pretty bad for Sora. It's understandable Roxas is the same way.
His eyes narrow at the accusation that he can't do something so simple, and he rolls them after a moment's hesitation.]
Sure I did. And then... if you didn't steal it, why are you eating it?

Well, true. And, well, as far as Riku knows, Roxas's body was made of Sora's. It makes sense for him to be the same size. Only, he's not. Sora's smaller than both of them.
He frowns at the uneaten biscuit in Roxas's hand, then raises a brow.]
... What do you mean, you bought it? You got it off the windowsill, didn't you? As far as I'm concerned, I've received no munny for those.
... Not exactly. Sora wanted to come and help with restoration things. Today's, ah... a day off, I guess.
[and then he's confused again.] ... What happened?

[He leads the boy further into the house, turning the corner to the kitchen and pulling the remaining biscuits off the sill.] Sora's always begging me to get him the things to make strawberry shortcake. So I decided to just... make it myself, you know? Surprise him for when he comes back. But you came along and stole some of them.
[But he does accept the bit of munny sitting on the window ledge, pocketing it quietly.] Want some tea or something?
Why not? Decided not to stop somewhere? I don't think anyone would have said anything had you stopped somewhere to eat, you know.
[He places a small kettle on the stove, then settles at the table to start chopping strawberries. If you asked him, though, he wouldn't say 'domestic'. He always liked cooking, as a kid, but if offering him tea is considered domestic, he's not sure what Roxas considers common courtesy to be.] He should, he doesn't eat very well. But it's not like he's gonna get fat.
Well, no. But you could have stopped and killed a rabbit or something, too.
[Well, sure, he is. But baking is fun -- he learned some of it at home, and Aerith taught him some, and he's been teaching himself nowadays. Being the 'tough guy' type has nothing to do with it.
