I can't believe it's finally happening!
So, I haven't posted here since last August... Big surprise. Forgive the knee-high dust layer. I'm still reading my flist, I'm just an eternal lurker. *shrug*
I usually never update since nothing much ever happens in my world. Well, something huge happened this week. I finally, *finally*, bought myself a condo! So, *so*, happy I'm finally there. I've finally reached the goal I've had for well over a decade. I've dug myself out of debt and made what will probably be the biggest purchase of my life. (Ironically, a purchase that puts me back in debt for a very long time...)
I've bought a unit off the plan in a new building so the process is started, but I'll only really own it when they deliver it which should be around mid-December if there are no delays. I'll be happy if it happens then, but I'm mentally prepared for it to go to June of next year. After that, I'll be getting really antsy.
It'll be a really great great space. 3rd floor (a decade in a basement is way too long), 9ft (2.75m) ceilings, really big living space, big windows, hardwood floors (so done with rugs), granite or quartz counter tops, a great shower, a decent balcony, a gardening space on the roof with a place to make compost, a community terrace also on the roof, only 1.3km (0.8mi) from where I currently live so I already know the area and it'll only lengthen my commute by that much walking (so around 10 minutes) and the area is a little quieter too. And all that for $12k under what I was expecting to pay. *eg*
