Sorry about the lack of posting yesterday. I'm still catching up on my Friends list reading and was busy at work as well.

So: weekend update. beldar was late getting home from work Friday night so we weren’t able to go out to dinner with ziggy_prime & indy_bbw as we had hoped. I'm hoping that we can get together with them sometime this weekend though. That evening we went to Buck Creek Players to see "Spitfire Grill:The Musical". The show was a rather mixed bag. The songs were eternally long and mostly horrible but the actors were terrific. It's hard to recommend it as the plot was syrupy and overly-drawn out but it wasn't half bad and as I said before, the performances elevated the production significantly. I'll say this: it's not the greatest script but after seeing it, the performances are memorable enough to make you forget most of it's shortcomings.

Saturday we got out and put out some yard signs promoting the church's Would Jesus Discriminate? Campaign. I also got my head shaved (just a little patch over the ears) to help me make it through the summer. While putting out signs we ended up in Zionsville and took an hour or two to wander around the place. We'd only been here once before and that was when the bus tour was showing us the area and we didn’t even get to stop and barely saw the place. It's a really cute little area and reminds me very much of Old Downtown Van Buren, AR which I miss more than I expected to. We stopped in this large antiques mall and found a "Slapshot Pete for President" button. We asked about it since we couldn't find a price listed and when the owner pulled it out of the case he couldn't find one either. He then gave it to us for free. Yea! Needless to say, we'll be going there again.

Saturday night we went to the InConjunction concom meeting and CoJ. Things are going well. Kim was there and acting very sweet which was very surprising considering her previous attitude towards us. Oh well, not my problem any more.

Sunday was church and then "Oliver!" at Beef & Boards that evening. I was not really looking forward to the show because the last time I saw it, it was 3 hours long and it's never been a favorite of mine anyway. However, they trimmed things down a bit and did a very good job so I was pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed it. Again, great acting can overcome all obstacles. It's definitely worth checking out if you can (especially since I think you can get a deal on tickets to "Cabaret" if you see it).

Yesterday was full of work. However, we did get to go to a sneak preview of the new IMAX movie: Wild Safari 3D (it's so good to be press - do I mention that enough). The film was really good but they shot most of it while riding around in a Jeep so if you are at all prone to carsickness (as I am), take precautions. I had to stop watching for a bit because I was so close to puking from the motion. However, if I had just not watched the bit at the beginning where they drive around for 5 or so minutes without seeing anything (and the other times they do that), I would have been just fine. There is one point where they are looking for leopards and they have a tracker sitting on a little stool out in front of the Jeep and I couldn't help but think the show would have been much more entertaining if one had jumped out of the bushes and taken him down as they were driving around.

I guess that's about it for now. I have work and reading to do.

TTFN!
