It's Raining ...

This weekend was nothing but blog fodder. So be prepared for an interesting entry.

Friday evening beldar had to work and we had to run errands so we went out to eat and while we were gone, a huge hailstorm hit our apartments. When we got home we noticed a bunch of white stuff throughout the grass that looked like circles of styrofoam and we figured out it was hail. We went in and got a bowl and proceeded to gather up a bunch of the stones for magical purposes. The stones were mostly the size of quarters but we found one that was the size of a golf ball. After a while some girls from upstairs came down with buckets and proceeded to gather up hailstones also. It looked like the world's wierdest Easter egg hunt. Then, after beldar had gone to work another HUGE barrage of hail hit us. The storm was so bad that all 3 networks preempted their broadcasts to show weather reports (for ALL of prime-time, too). What was really interesting was that channel 8 (WISH-TV) had a notation on it's radar right above where my apartment complex is that read "Snacks". It was bizzare. Anyway, my car & I survived unharmed so that's pretty reassuring. Of course I spent the brunt of the storm watching what was probably the best episode ever of Doctor Who (Dalek). I'm going to miss this Doctor (of course, I'm looking forward to the next one even more).

OK, Saturday we spent mostly at home. We caught up on our DVR shows and beldar got the oil changed in his car. His haircut and my car's oil change will have to wait until next weekend. However, that evening we went to see No Exit's production of "FeMENism". I would like to let everyone know that we did not ask to see this show although we did consider it. They just sent us passes in the mail so we went. OMFG! You have no idea how unbelievably pretentious and crappy this show was. To sum it up: men with sheets. The other members of the audience kept looking at each other with "Is is just me, or do you think this is bullshit, too?" looks. Literally, unbelievable.

Sunday was Easter. I went out Friday and cornered the market on Easter crack (Cadbury mini eggs) as they are very hard to find and sell out quickly. So no other chocolatey goodness happening there. beldar got roped into hospitality at church so we had to be there for the early service in order to serve snacks. We had planned for me to just stay at home that day but my coworker was coming to church again and this time she was bringing a friend who was visiting from out-of-town so I had to go. Of course, I got roped into helping him with his job so it wasn't so bad. Oh, and I think we've been roped into Communion service also. So after church we ran a few errands and then went home to watch more DVR stuff. One of the things we watched was The Lost Skeleton of Cadavra. Words cannot express how incredibly wild this movie is. For those of you unfamiliar with it, it's an homage to the Ed Wood style of film. It's terrible, but it's meant to be terrible. It needs robots but they intended for you to think that. Still, it is wonderful in it's awfulness. I must indeed, own this film.

OK, that's about it for this weekend.
