Christmas is Coming ...

It would seem that Sunday night at our Coven's Yule celebration, BGJ cut open my nutsack and almost choked on the contents. Actually, my nuts were enjoyed by all. We all had a blast playing various games (Why Did the Chicken …, Guillotine and of course, Run for Your Life Candyman). Our Priestess'new beau liked it so much he's trying to buy a copy for himself. I think he will do well here.

Now for other events, Friday my toothache got much worse so I had mashed potatoes and a shake for dinner. When I woke up Saturday, the whole left side of my mouth and jaw were HUGELY swollen. I tried taking some really OLD antibiotics to try and fight the infection but they didn't work. However, it didn't hurt to eat anymore so that was at least nice. We did get the lights on our tree (we had to buy some more but at least it's lit). We also went out and bought a star for the top but it's so huge and heavy that the only way we could get it to work was to hang it from the ceiling and then attach it to the tree. It looks OK but we'll get another one after Christmas and just use this one as a decoration next year (it's lighted). beldar had to get a present for a coworker and he decided to get him some tacky ties (the guy seems to ALWAYS wear a tie to work no matter what) so we scouted the thrift stores and found some other great stuff as well. We had a small bought of depression Saturday afternoon on the way home because it seems that Wal*Mart ruined our Christmas.

As we were coming home Friday night, beldar got a wicked idea. Along a street near our home there is a rock chimney. It was part of a house that was either demolished or burnt down but the chimney has been standing there since before we moved here in 2001. Anyway, beldar decided that the next morning we would get a couple of cheap stockings at the Dollar Tree and hang them on the chimney as a Christmasy lark. I reluctantly went along with this mischief but when we got there to hang them, they had torn the chimney down. Overnight! We were pissed. This morning we found out that Wal*Mart is opening a new SuperCenter on the site and they obviously had it torn down as part of their remodeling. Now, I do agree we need not only commerce in the area and a Wal*Mart but they could have waited a few weeks longer so we could have had our creative Christmas display. Poop on them!

Back to my life, Sunday since the swelling wasn't any better, we went to the hospital and I got some antibiotics for the infection. I got the number of the dental clinic so that once the infection's gone we can see if it the tooth needs any work and possibly get some other teeth fixed. After the hospital, we went to our Priestess' house for Yule. We had a nice little feast (we have now been ordered to bring a rotisseried bird to all further gatherings) but no real ceremony although we really didn't mind that.

Last night we were supposed to do laundry but we had to run by the mall near my work to get another part of beldar's coworker's gift and we spent some time at the mall as the bookstore there is going out of business and everything's 50% off. We bought more books than we probably should have but it was very nice to have gotten some of them. After that we went home, had dinner and watched a few things on the DVR.

Tonight we've got to pick up beldar's new glasses, buy FireFly (it's on sale at Fry's at a great price, and nobody had any package sales of it and Serenity - which we'll get soon), run by the library to pick up and return books (I love online book requesting and renewal) and then finally go home. We'll probably have to eat out as we will not really have any time to fix anything at home. Other than that, not much else happening so I may or may not post anything later.
