There's Been a Change in Me ...

Dec 12, 2005 11:45

First of all, it looks like weeji (beldar's little sis) might be having her baby today. I think it would be great to share my birthday with a "niece". Go Baby!

Secondly, this weekend was full of some truly strange moments. Since the roads were mostly clear Friday night, we did most of our shopping before beldar had to go back to work. Then Saturday, we got my license renewed (more about that later) then finished our shopping and went back home to clear the snow from around our place (we bought a shovel) and get some more decorating done. We put up the lighted wreath outside and I found a bunch of window cling decorations that I had bought last year so I put those up and then we finally got the Christmas tree up. It's still not decorated but since we don't have any shows this week or weekend, we sould get that done pretty soon. Then we went to see the Civic's production of Beauty & the Beast. It was good but not great. on the whole the costumes were very good but the plates sucked and we couldn't figure out what the hell the whisk broom was (it looked like a grass hut). They also used stage hands dressed all in grey to be "gargoyles" but as my friend said, "they are one ball gag short of being gimps". The Beast totally sucked but overall, it was an OK production.

Sunday we got up early and went to church and then hosted the lunch gathering. It went pretty well and we got to know some people that we hadn't met before. Afterwards we went to Crate & Barrel (which is much better than I expected) and finally found a decent gingerbread man cookie cutter. That evening we went to The Alley to see Quills. The show was really good but one girl was upstaged by her breasts and I was SO not prepared to add Doug Powers to my "I've seen your penis" list. Still, a fun show.

Now to get back to the Liscense renewal and what the above title is referring to. Saturday morning, I went through a sex change operation. When I was getting the liscense renewed, the girl asked me if the sex was correct. I looked and noticed (for I believe the first time) that they had put down "M" for my sex instead of "F". SO for the past four years, the state of Indiana has considered me a man. Not only did we not notice this but none of my employers or anyone else who used my liscense as identification noticed either. Now because it was a government document, they were going to refuse to change it without a birth certificate but I don't have one (fire destroyed my original one and my mom lost her copy). I did manage to convince them that the Arkansas authorities have records of me being a woman so they let me sign an affidavit and I am now female again (they can change their mind at a later date but I'm at least good for now).

Not much else happening for now. I'll post more tomorrow.
