Ok, now for a proper update.
Friday night was spent catching up on some stuff around the house. Saturday
beldar had to go out to an awards lunch for journalists (he'd won something) so I did the shopping while he was there. He won a third place award (shared with his other two team members). Whoo! My shopping was only somewhat successful as I couldn't find two of the items on my list I've been looking for for some time (Sugar Free Fisherman's Friend cough drops and a gingerbread man cookie cutter with actual arms and not nubs). Oh well. That evening we went to the Phoenix to see "Every Christmas Story Ever Told". It was a cute show and as much as it pains me to say it, Tony was fabulous. It wouldn't have been quite as good if the actors hadn't been strong enough to overcome the direction (it was really desperate). But still a cute show.
Sunday we got up very early so we could have a good breakfast as we were volunteering at the St. Nickolaus Fest at the Athaneum. We do this every year and I am in charge of the cookie room and cutting the stollen (I bring my own knife, cutting board and gloves). The day was very fun but it was extremely tiring. I really don't have near the energy I used to. That evening we roasted a chicken in the rotisserie and it is much easier to do once you know what you're doing and have help.
Monday was laundry day (had some of the chicken for dinner). Tuesday night we went to see "Miss Saigon". My God, that show is incredible. I absoulutely loved it and didn't feel it was too sad and wasn't upset by the ending. I did feel that it stole a little too much from "Les Miz" though. Some musical passages were absolutely identical. However, the show was amazing. I was rather bummed that they didn't have hardly any souveniers but we really didn't have the money for them anyway.
Last night was the Indy Knights Holiday Party. We had a great time and got to see a lot of club members we hadn't seen in a while. In the gift exchange, I got some candles and
beldar got a small Star Wars popcorn tin (we had just bought the large one) and a kewl Darth Vader Notebook.
Tonight, no shows!! Yea!!!! Friday, no shows and hopefully some cleaning and unpacking (I do want to try to get the tree up this weekend). Saturday, Beauty and the Beast at Civic and Quills at the Alley on Sunday. Oh yeah, we're hosting the after church lunch outing on Sunday as well. That's about it.
TTFN!
