I'm in Love With a ...

I'm still catching up on friends list reading. However, I thought I'd update a little first. I went to work yesterday and things went pretty well. I'm not a super fast typist but I'm getting better. Having the ability to touch type after all of these years is still taking some getting used to but it does help. Back to work tomorrow and Monday. I might get a few extra days thrown in too.

As for the car, we don't have one and we're looking for one once again. The guy sent back out deposit check. He supposedly couldn't get the title from the guy he bought it from and doesn't own it himself. Eh, whatever. We've found a few possibilities in the paper. More on this development as it occurs.

We saw "I am my Own Wife" at The Phoenix last night. My God! it was incredible. It's an intensely touching portrayal of the life of East Germany's most famous transvestite. Since it's a one man show, it really wrings you out emotionally (not as much as the actor but still). If you can see it, GO! It is truely an amazing show.

Now, on to what the title of this entry is about. I am so in love with a TV show, I can't contain myself. I think PeeJee best describes my feelings towards the show (I haven't seen "MirrorMask" yet but it hasn't played here yet). I want to have this shows babies. What show is it that elicits such disires from me, you ask? Ladies and Gentleman, I give you: Viva Blackpool (just Blackpool to my Brit friends). It's a murder-mystery-musical-comedy, if you can believe that. It's kind of like Twin Peaks has drinks with Columbo and Cop Rock. It's an absolute hoot. The musical numbers are amazingly priceless. My favorite is when the Detective and the Casino owner sing "These Boots are Made for Walkin" complete with choreographed tango number. It's so amazingly surreal it's hard to believe but it's so well done that the inherent corniness is easily overlooked. I can't wait for it to be released on DVD. I WILL OWN THIS.

Not much else right now. I'll try to update sometime tomorrow.

TTFN!
