Food, Glorious Food ...

Well, I have a new friend. I'm not really sure where she came from but I'd like to offer a nice warm welcome to yoames for joining the crew (talk like a pirate day hasn't totally worn off yet).

I also have a new webcomic that I must share with everyone. The Perry County Bible Fellowship. It's really not what it seems. BTW, thanks to lulong for finding this in the first place.

Again, thanks to everyone who went over to beldar's journal and wished him a Happy Birthday yesterday. He really appreciated it.

Speaking of his birthday, I took beldar out to Kazablanka for his birthday dinner (they give you a free dinner on your birthday so I figured this way we could get something nicer for him). OHMYGAWD! their food is delicious and inexpensive. They had most of their dinners on special for $10.00 (they normally range between $12-18). He had a 12 oz New York Strip Steak and I had the Prime Rib (also 12 oz). His steak was really good but my Prime Rib was heaven. I could not believe the quality of the food for the incredible price. I also could not finish my meal even though I was ravenously hungry. WhooHoo! we have a new favorite restaurant. I can't wait to go try their Sunday brunch (incredibly huge, also $10.00).

We also dropped his car off to get it repaired from the sideswiping last week. With that and dinner, we ended up not doing laundry last night (we'll probably do it tonight). It looks like we're going to get the tire on the Aveo paid for out of the "loss of use" portion of the insurance settlement. We're also going to pursue the Apartment complex for reimbursal of the cost of replacing both tires. The same vandals had hit our complex once before and they knew they were hitting other complexes/residences in the area and they didn't step up security to keep our attacks from happening. We've got 13 families involved in our attack so it looks like a class action suit if they refuse to settle. It was a really sucky way to meet our neighbors but it was nice that many of them apologized to us for this sort of "welcome" to the neighborhood. Even with this, I think we're really going to like it here.

I think I've got a few odds & ends to post later (again, I don't like to make really long posts if I can help it). We'll see.

TTFN!
