So Close and Yet So Far ...
First of all, a big welcome to niennaainur for joining the mayhem here. She's a friend of bazzatron and it looks like we have a lot in common so I'm really glad to have her aboard.
Now for your somewhat regularly scheduled update. We signed all of our paperwork on Saturday and while we were there the Cable and the phone guy both showed up EARLY (both over 3 hours early). Luckily we were right there to get things handled. Spent the rest of the day and Sunday morning packing like crazy. The movers showed up Sunday (on time but without the preliminary phone call) and freaked out at the amount of crap we had to move. They didn't think they'd get over half of it done but they actually got around 80% done. They would have gotten closer to 90-95% but the truck filled up before we ran out of stuff to put in it. They even got finished early. Our new place is amazingly roomy. It looked so small before we started getting things moved in but now it's almost overflowing with space. I can't wait to get unpacked and start entertaining. Oh yea, as beldar posted in his journal, one of the guys had fangs and special contacts to make him look vampy (he said he had really strong sunscreen).
I do want to thank defixione immensely for agreeing to help us with the loan of his truck. I had hoped that we wouldn't have to ask him since it seems that everyone he knows has been tapping him for moving help and has really taken advantage of him. I hope he doesn't resent us for asking but if we had had another option, we certainly would have taken it just to keep from taxing the relationship.
New riddle tomorrow and one small bleed today. Expect more as this one came from the drive between the apartment office and our new place.
