So, my last day (much like the supposed end of the world) came and went without any fanfare or ado. However, today, the bitch-boss is claiming that I never told her I was leaving (even though I told her well before I told my temp agency). Plus, she talked with them last week about it when I told her that I wasn't sure if I was even coming in to work at all this week. She's evil, delusional and unstable. Is it any wonder everyone she's working with hates her and wants to leave. In fact, everyone I told knew exactly why I was leaving and all were jealous that I had the option to do so. They all wished they could go with me. I'll really miss them but not her. But then (to paraphrase) she's made her bed and now she can fuck in it.

To celebrate my new-found freedom beldar & I went to the Zoopolis 500 which is billed as "The greatest spectacle in tortoise racing". Since the weather was threatening to rain, they moved the event inside of the party tent and used 5 radiated tortoises rather than the giant tortoises (and pace turtle) that are traditionally used. For those of you not from here, this event developed by the need to move the tortoises from their winter environs to the summer ones and it's a really cute event. This year the 5 tortoises were named after drivers (Dan Wheldon's representative won) and rather than milk, raspberries & strawberries were the real reward at the end of the race. While they had cake & milk for everyone, I really was more tempted by the fruit trays at the race's end and especially this one huge strawberry that was on top of the milk bottle in the middle of one of them. Still, we had fun and hope to go back again (and then I'll try to remember to bring my camera).

So, I'm really loving my new life of freedom and hope to get back to working again before too long but am greatly looking forward to the time off in order to try to do some serious cleaning around the house so that I can get busy with my sewing machine. My projects and mending pile just keep getting larger.

I hope you all are doing well out there and are staying safe and healthy (there are serious storms hitting here now and more and more coming down the pike). I wish you all the best and will do my best to talk to you more often.

TTFN!
