(no subject)
Well, I made it through my week's reprieve from the tortures of my Hellspawn of a boss. Unfortunately, I was unable to fully enjoy the time off because I was ill throughout the whole time (I started coming down with it last Tuesday while still at work). Still, I did my best and has the best week off I could.
Penguicon was a blast! The programming on the whole was terribly weak but I still got to hang out with tons of people I like and I made the best of everything. Plus, we had great food and even got to meet someone who had been featured on the opening of Craig Ferguson's show.
I also made some great new friends and tried some wild new things - including playing in an impromptu replacement team for the Geek Family Feud. Our team captain was jmaynard (the legendary "Tron Guy" for those of you who don't know him) and we kept the missing team's name "Too Drunk to Taste Chicken". While we didn't win, we did have a great time playing. We also earned badges from the Nuets. I lost over half of my ribbons (including my lovely, IITYWYKM?) but still ended up with some good ones including "Fuckweasel" (they tried to order the word "Fuschia" on the ribbon but when they picked it up that's what it said).
Overall, it was far from the best Penguicon I've attended but I still had a great time and can't wait for next year.
Of course, now I have to repack my work stuff and return to my place of torture tomorrow. Oh well, nothing lasts for ever and you must pay the piper for the pleasure of the past week.
