It's The Most Wonderful Time Of The Year ...

Well, I have been very busy lately helping to run our neighborhood's week-long Halloween Festival. I missed Saturday night's kickoff event because we had to go to "Kitchen Witches" at TotS (more on that later).

Sunday evening we went to the Spooktacular Organ concert and it went really well. Last night was our "Slightly Haunted Puppet show" which drew a record crowd of over 400 as well as our charity auction/wine tasting event which sold out and pretty much exceeded capacity. We set some record numbers for sales prices as well.

Tonight we are helping out at the library where they will be showing "Monsters vs. Aliens" as our annual kids movie show. Given the huge turnout for last night's children's show I'm really hoping this goes well as there is a much smaller capacity for this event and I expect it to be met very quickly. Add to that that we're also providing only a limited number of free hot dogs & popcorn and we're going to have some really pissed off parents (the kids get over it much quicker than the parents - they have a higher sense of entitlement).

Tomorrow night should be pretty fun as well. The local theater is showing "Young Frankenstein". I'm really excited about that as well. Then Thursday night is spooky stories on the circle. Friday night is the annual roller derby bought. Then Saturday is the main festival day itself.

Now, to get back to last Saturday's show. "Kitchen Witches" is an absolutely hilarious show about two cooking show hosts who absolutely hate each other and who's shows have both been canceled. After a huge blowout between the two is televised live they are given a second shot at a show but they have to host it together. Needless to say, hilarity & scandal ensues. The show is definitely a must-see for the entire family. The content never strays beyond PG so it's safe to bring the kids to this one. The cast is amazing and the costumes are sheer perfection. If you are in the Indy area, I can't stress enough how delightful the show is and how much you should see it.

So, that's what I've been up to lately. I hope things are going well with all of you out there and I will talk to you again soon.

TTFN!
