Well, I planned to post on Friday but I was pretty busy at work so I couldn't get to it. I was also pretty tired from being out so late Thursady but more about that later.
Friday & Saturday we packed and cleaned. We've gotton both bedroom's taken care of and now we're trying to finish up the living room/dining area.
beldar 's off this week so he's doing a great deal of the work while I'm here.
Sunday we cleaned a bit and then had our monthly
Starbase Indy meeting. Things are looking very good for the con. Afterwards we went to see a rehersal of Ganas' production for the local fringe festival, "A Midsummer Night of Fairies and Asses". It looks like it will be a rollicking good time. Then we went back home and cleaned and packed some more.
Now as for my above mentioning of Thursday,
beldar & I went to the
Foolight Musicals production of "Chess". While we've never actually seen it staged, this show has been a particular favorite of ours since it's inception and the kids did us proud. There was hardly a dry eye in the house at the end of "Nobody's Side" and the applause threatened to stop the show (it's actually the first time I've seen that big a reaction at a theater in a very long time). If you're in the Indy metro area you should really make every effort to see this show. I know that when we were walking out to the car, I turned to
beldar and said, "I want to see it again". I haven't felt this enthralled since
The Phoenix did "Hedwig and the Angry Inch". One word of caution, the costumer did go out of her way to provide some of the most horrifyingly regretful clothing from the 80's you could imagine. However, the show does lovingly mock them so it's all worth it in the end.
Lastly, a few more bleeds. These are all song vs.song and I do not know the original titles of most of them so I'm just going to fire them off with no credits.
1. "Life is so strange, when you don't know" ... "the grace of God"
2. "Heaven Lies beyond" ... "the Men in Black"
3. (my personal favorite) "A little bit of this, a little bit of that" ... "and the blood of the lamb"
Upon checking my mail, I saw that
aceofbirds and
theturtlemoves are both on their way here. They are supposed to get into town between midnight & 3AM on thursday morning. I can't wait to see them.
Also, to reitterate what
beldar posted on Friday, since we're both going to be at GenCon from Thursday until Sunday, don't expect any postings from us. We might make a quick post at some point during the weekend but I wouldn't really count on it. We'd be more likely to read our friends pages and maybe comment there.
TTFN!
