(no subject)
Yesterday was full of lots of ups and downs. Work was horrible for the most part. "Wolf Blitzer" (our District Manager looks just like him) came by and criticized everything we do. Plus I had this woman come in and take up an hour of my time for absolutely nothing (she's not coming back nor will she pay me if she does). There was a point where I almost ran out of the office in tears but I'm really glad I stuck it out. I had a wonderful young woman come in to file her first return and had a fantastic experience educating her in the ways of the tax world and giving her advice for planning for her future. I so love doing that and she was so grateful to me for taking extra time with her and really helping her to understand her taxes and that's the most satisfying part of my job.
After work, I met up with veronica_rich and her lovely sister dahlianna and we wreaked havoc on the town. We went to Papa Roux and had a yummtastic dinner. Then we headed downtown for some shopping and general wacky fun. On the way there, while we were stopped at a light, we witnessed two people crossing in front of us and one of them was obviously following the other. Both of them had white canes which means we actually saw the blind leading the blind.
While downtown we had a great time at the various shops and saw some really great fun stuff that we may have to go back and purchase. Not the least of which was squirrel underpants and this awesome knife that I really need to have. We also went to the toy store and played with some of their puppets trying to recreate some of Craig Ferguson's musical numbers.
Before we left we went to Luna music (the local independent music store) so I could try once more to find the newest Glenn Tilbrook CD. When I asked the young clerk if they had it he had that "who the fuck is that?" look. I immediately shut him down with a scolding of, "Little boy, shame on you for not knowing your music history". I enlightened him as to Glenn's musical genius but sadly, they still did not have the CD.
After all of this we went back to my place where we killed off my bottle of strawberry Irish cream. I also introduced dahlianna to "The Tingler" at which she declared her eternal love for me and the desire to stay with me forever. Unfortunately, they had a long road trip today so they had to leave. But I'm hoping they will be able to go out with beldar & myself on Sunday to celebrate the big Holiday.
