When Will it End...

First of all, I'd like to welcome commiepenguin  to the fold. I mentioned him in a previous post and am glad to have him here.

Now on to a more somber subject, work.

Today I had planned to sit down with Gerrian (my Kelly representative, we're kind of like a union here with our setup) and ask her to give me a straight answer to what my future will be like here. There have been several positions I have not pursued as vehemently as I should have because I have been sort of promised the position I'm in now. However, it keeps looking like this position isn’t going to exist after August and if I'm not going to still be with the company, I need to get something else worked up because my work location is going to be a major factor in picking our new apartment and we have to do that in the next few weeks.

Well, Gerrian sent an email last night telling us she's going to be out of the office until Wednesday. Great! I still have to wait even longer. Totally sucks right?

Then Joe (my current supervisor) came over and went through the whole situation of what's happening in my department. Robbie's position has been filled and he and Larry (two of my seven people) are going to be supported by Robbie's replacement. He also told me that now Butch is my new supervisor which isn't too bed since he's one of the higher-ups. He also said that even though our department has lost a lot of people (about 1/5-1/6 of our people), Butch is working to hire two or three more people and that if he does, the position will still exist and that since everyone knows that I want it and can handle it, I should be given it. I've also been told by all of the other temps that once you get in the company they rarely let you go. They will just transfer you around until you land a permanent job.

I'm going to take all of this in a positive light and plan to get an apartment somewhere on the west to northwest side of Indy.

That's it for now.

TTFN!
