Sorry no posting yesterday. I had intended to put something up when I went by the unemployment office to file my weekly claim but I was unable to due to the amount of people that were there. I have never seen the place that full before. Someone big must have lain off a whole lot of workers because there were at least 200 in the office when I was there around noon (even at it's busiest, I've never seen more than 50 people in there at one time).
Actually, I had originally intended to go to work yesterday but I woke up with a splitting headache and extreme nausea so I opted to stay home instead. This was good because I had doctor's appointments and I wouldn't have gotten much work done if I had gone in.
As you've probably guessed, I'm at work today. Everything here is going well. I’m feeling good and they're glad to have me back.
As for my weekend, I took it easy on Friday. Just hung around the house most of the day.
beldar had to work that night so we hadn't planned for him to come home in the afternoon but I was feeling a bit weak so he made a trip home and took me out for a late lunch/early dinner. After that and a little time together, he went back to work.
Saturday was very active though. We met up with
veronica_rich & saw an early IMAX showing of "The Dark Knight". Wow! Was that ever great! I was really impressed by pretty much everything in the film. It was truly amazing. After the movie we went to Mo's Irish Pub for lunch which went pretty well. Their menu has very little on it that I can have with my dietary restrictions but I had a lovely pasta dish that was quite tasty (after they took away all of the nasty chopped tomato they covered it in initially - which wasn't in the menu description).
After lunch we looked in at the Borders quickly and then ran back over to the theater to see a matinee showing of "Mama Mia!" (which was wonderful).
veronica_rich hadn't seen the stage play so she was delightfully surprised by everything. As for myself &
beldar, we enjoyed how they made the most out of having an actual Greek Island to work with and the few little tweaks that were made for the movie (songs in different order, much different choreography, etc.). However, I was disappointed in the costumes for 'Donna and the Dynamos'. Their stage costumes are much more extreme and hideous than the ones in the movie and I felt that little bit suffered. However, seeing the flashbacks of exactly what the suitors looked like in their heyday was probably worth the costume change. I really can't wait until this hits the dollar theaters so that I can sing along (and dance along) with the film. It was really hard not to do that then but my health prevented me from doing much more than a few hand gestures in my seat.
After that we hung out at Starbucks for a bit and watched "Dr. Horrible's Sing-a-long Blog" then departed company. We bought a few groceries, had dinner and then went home.
Sunday I made it to church but then we came home and spent the rest of the day resting and taking it easy. I am having trouble breathing the humid air generated by the shower so I'm having to take baths and wash my hair in the sink until I can shower properly it again.
Yesterday is mostly detailed above. I did have a doctor's appointment to follow-up on my release. I'm doing okay and other than my Coumadin (it's a blood-thinner) levels not registering at all, all is well with me. I have to up my dosage for the rest of the week and get tested again on Thursday to see if it's working yet. If it's not, I’m not sure what they're going to do.
Beyond that, everything else is going well. I'm back into the swing of things at work and feeling much better than the last time I was here so at least that's going for me. I have been having inordinately vivid dreams lately. Including one yesterday that had me reference a series of books (which don't really exist) and discuss them all and their story lines as well as overall plot arc. Very strange indeed.
So, that's it for me for today. I will talk to you all again tomorrow.
TTFN!
