First of all, sorry this is late. We've had computer problems here at work and have been down almost all day. That said, update time.
Since last night was Mardi Gras, we decided to go out and celebrate. We still had a free Red Beans & Rice dinner from
Papa Roux so we went there and got that as well as another entree. It was very all very tasty and we ran into
Taylor Martin's lovely wife right before we left. It was so nice to see her again. Unfortunately Taylor was out working but hopefully we will get to se them again sometime soon. I really love them so much and they are great to hang out with.
After our dinner we went to see "Jesus Christ Superstar". It was a good show. However, it seems that stunt casting it the only way this show gets produced. While casting
Corey Glover (lead singer of the rock band
Living Color) as Judas was brilliant, they cast
Ted Neeley as Jesus (he played the role in the 1973 movie) and was born just two months before my mother was. Needless to say, Jesus wasn't really kickin it with the choreography. Actually, the whole show was fairly streamlined with the songs trimmed and almost overlapped. Also the staging was more old-fashioned so there were no rubber dresses or clothing straight from the Gap as in the last production we saw.
One really awesome note was that one of the apostles was played by Phillip C. Armstrong who was last seen here in "Altar Boyz" and some of you may remember playing a hallucination of Jesus in "Reefer Madness". At one point last night
beldar leaned over to me and said, "I remember that apostle when he was playing Jesus". Overall, it was a really nice show.
Tomorrow night we are seeing
"The Lieutenant of Inishmore" at The Phoenix. I'm even more excited about seeing this because due to the intensity of the fight choreography, they had to hire the guy who did it on Broadway to do it here. Sadly, he flies out tomorrow morning so we won't get to talk with him about things. Which really sucks because this is the sort of person whom I would adore talking shop with. He has a story about having to shoot a cannon full of eyeballs (what girl wouldn't swoon at that sort of glory).
Oh, I almost forgot to mention that I found out tomorrow that the computer guy didn't come in yesterday and is coming in next week instead. Yeah! I can get my computer fixed. However, I did get a small patch-job done today when our other computer guy came in. He's going to have the other guy spend some time fixing up my machine so that I can get back to business as usual.
SO, I guess that's about it for me for now. I will talk to you again tomorrow.
TTFN!
