This morning when getting ready, I was feeling pretty good so I skipped taking advil. However, when I tried to get out of the car at work, my knee stabbed me with a pain that made me regret this decision. I guess I need to take it even if I don't think I need it. So, took some at work and not hurting anymore.
To recap yesterday's election issues, I did hear back and my registration has been updated to reflect my current address. I got off work and hour early and managed to make such good time getting home that I was able to vote before the show last night. I also found out that the park behind our house has an ice skating rink. I totally did not know that.
Oh yeah, and my candidate, Greg Ballard won the Mayoral election. Apparently, the city decided they had "Had enough" (his campaign slogan). Really not bad for a man who didn't even have his own party's support (mainly because they thought that the incumbent couldn't be beaten no matter what). I hope he's as genuine as he was when we met him. We were invited to attend his victory party but sadly, could not make it because we had a to see a show last night.
What show kept us from celebrating this monumental accomplishment, you might ask. Was it "Mamma Mia"? No, although we did have the opportunity to see it but had to pass. What could be better that that?
The answer is the latest production from
Kid's Play, "Altar Egos". The show was an adorable look at marriage planning and families and the insanity of it all. The script was a hoot. Even though none of the kids in the play are older than 8th grade, they still pulled off the humor as well as (and in may cases better than) most adult actors. The parents of the bride and groom were especially hilarious. I really can't stress this enough but if you are in the Greenfield area this weekend you really should check out this show. You will get a good laugh and see some amazing up-and-coming talent. Plus, with tickets being only $5.00, it's really the best entertainment value around.
Prior to the show, we were treated to a "Rehearsal Dinner" with the local Kiwanis club which was really nice. It's nice to see that the local businesses are finally coming around to support this group. It seems that in the past few years since they've had more community backing, they have really stepped-up the quality of the productions. I can't wait to see what their spring show brings (it's got a county fair theme).
Tonight is the Indy Knights meeting. Hopefully,
beldar will get home in time to make it.
Well, that's really about it for now. I will post again later. Hope everyone out there got out and voted yesterday and woke up to positive results this morning.
TTFN!
