Wow! What a weekend. I am thoroughly exhausted. Apparently we are all getting old. We were really wiped out at the Mummies show and weren't able to enjoy it as much as we would have liked to. Still, we did have a good time.
Saturday was filled with much fun. I got up and made waffles for everyone. Then after breakfast we ran some errands and went to the Halloween Festival. We met up with
veronica_rich after lunch and showed her around to our lovely neighborhood. All of the ghost tours sold out by 1PM so she didn't get to go on those but she did get to see some of the wonderful little shops in our neighborhood. Unfortunately she left her purchases at our place but I imagine we'll see her at some point this coming weekend and can get them back to her then. One note about the festival, the best costume we saw was a kid dressed up in fatigues carrying a gun and he had a large stick going up his back that met up with a cross of two other sticks above him. Dangling from those sticks were strings. Behind him was a sign that read, "Bush's Puppet". Again, I wish I had a camera.
After wearing ourselves out at the festival I was too tired to get our costumes together so I just finished the dalek cake and we went to the party. I didn't manage all of the pictures I promised due to camera problems but I did get a couple so I will see what I can do. The party was fantastic. The couple who hosted it have the most amazing living room (we dubbed it Nerdvana). It's really huge with 20 foot ceilings and so much amazing stuff. We all had such a great time that we didn't even play any games (for me, that really is amazing).
Anyway, after we finally drug ourselves away from the fun, we all went home and collapsed in bed.
beldar had to work hospitality at church in the morning so we slept in while he went. He was able to cut out a little early though and we had enough time to get
astria home before the play started. However, he missed the strange hilarity of us torturing my Halloween Furby. We placed it (still sleeping) on the edge of the coffee table and shot rubber bands at it until it fell of and woke up. I really wish I had been able to tape it as it would have been great on youtube.
Anyway, the play was good. It was a biting satire of the Bush administration taken directly from speech and meeting transcripts. It's always strange how sometimes the best way to make fun of something is to repeat it verbatim.
So, after the show we got some dinner, went home, watched TV and went to bed. Again, we were really wiped out.
Tonight we are going to a special reading of Poe's works at Easley Winery. Then tomorrow is a sneak preview of "Bee Movie". Wednesday is Halloween. Friday is the Whoosier Network meeting and Saturday is CoJ. Very busy week.
SO that's it for now. More later if possible.
TTFN!
