(no subject)
God! I am tired today. We were up late last night getting things done. I got my hair colored and the games packed but I still need to pack our clothes and such as well as clean out the car.
I tried to make the Dalek cake and it was going well until it started leaning so we put it in the fridge to solidify it a bit and the head fell off. We're going to try to repair it tonight so it will be in decent shape for the convention. I will advise that we should eat the thing Friday night so it won't break apart again. Still, I gained a lot of important insight on how to do another one in the future (if I ever do).
While we were doing stuff yesterday, we watched Julie Taymor's production of "The Magic Flute". Damn! that was all F'd up. But it was really wonderful.
We also taped the Eddie Izzard specials that we don't own yet on BBCAmerica since they were showing them. Also, for some reason the Action movie channel was running a Godzilla marathon (how that relates to the 4th, is beyond me) and we caught a bit of that. Mostly we watched stuff we had recorded, though.
As for what we are watching, we're enjoying "John From Cincinnati". As beldar said, it's like if David Lynch was a surfer. It's an interesting show and we are dying to know what the hell is going on.
We're also watching "Flight of the Concords" which I am enjoying/watching more than beldar. It's wonderfully surreal in it's own way as well.
I'm enjoying the soap opera that it "Big Love" and we're both still trying to figure out if we like "Meadowlands". Also, since it's rerun time, beldar is getting to catch up on "The Unit" (I like it but it's not really my cup of tea).
Oh well, I guess that's really it for now. I will probably not post again until Monday since I'll be at Inconjunction all weekend. I hope to see some of you there.
