Ok, work is just insane! I am trying yet another chapter to see if I can find just one who has reports that match their records. BTW, this is the third one since we last spoke. I'm not holding out much hope for things to get better.
Of course it doesn't help that I have a royal bitch-queen of an Advisor bitching because her chapter didn't include all of their materials and feeling they should not be fined for it. She also wants the Handbook to specifically name her chapter as exemt to certain rules. Her "it's always been OK to do this in the past" argument was shot to shit by the fact that I'm having to re-file the chapter's taxes and that they never had the exclusion she insists that they were given. However, when the new boss gets ahold of her, she'll be singing another tune. I'm downright lenient compared to her.
Therefore, I doubt I'll catch up on the Friends List. So, if there's anything you feel I should read or know about, please let me know. I really hope everyone understands.
As for the weekend update: The con went very well. Attendance seemed to be higher. I also noticed that for the first time since we've been attending (2002) Opening Ceremonies and The Masquerade were so well attended that things scheduled opposite them were mostly empty. Had I known to expect this, I would have better scheduled my "Live Cookie" games. We still ended up with good turnouts for them but because of the timing I had this hyper, annoying girl in all three of them and I so wanted to kill her before the second was over let alone the third.
I only got to see one episode of Dr Who (Tooth & Claw) but they're showing Girl in the Fireplace at the August meeting and those are on Friday nights so I can see it then and I am so joining the club. I'm also going to get a Sonic Screwdriver replica. They are so awesome.
I spent most of the con in the game room as I expected but had quite a good time. I did spend more than I had planned on artwork but that was because I bought wands for myself and
beldar as well as a spiffy shelf to put my penguins on (it's decorated to look like an ice cave with little cubbies that will be perfect). Besides, we're not going to have to spend money on a couch like we thought so everything's OK.
I guess that's about it for now. It looks like this week's going to be pretty busy. Tonight we're seeing the final tour of "Les Miserables". Tomorrow is The Ice-breaker" at
The Phoenix. Thursday is "Aida" at
TotS. Friday beldar is supposed to work. Saturday we have a costume event at the Hallmark store in the Castleton Mall and Sunday we're supposed to go play Call of Cthulhu.
Please keep in touch everyone. TTFN!
