PAX is about a month away and I need to find out from quite a few of you if you plan on going. I still REALLY want to go, especially since we all missed Sakura Con, and I know a lot of you were interested in going as well. I've already looked into a very nice hotel about a half mile away from the con. Believe it or not, they have rooms for 58 bucks a night and it isn't even a shitty motel. Actually, it seems like a nice little inn and the rooms even have a little kitchen with a microwave/fridge.
Anyway, full passes are $40 if you register before August 1st and $45 anytime after that. They'll have a great exhibit hall with merchandise as well as a ton of game demos. There will be concerts, tournaments, arcade games, and plenty of shenanigans throughout the convention. Honestly, its looking to be a lot like E3 but less about business and more about making friends and having fun. I just hope a lot of you are still interested in going...I mean some of my best friends from out of town are going to be showing up, even. Matt, Serge, Tony, and even Lizking from San Jose. I'd love to get a hotel room (or two, depending on who comes) with Kenzi, Frank, Isaac, Lane, Hilary, Liane, Nick, Andy, Lizking, and anyone else (Devin? Jessie?). Matt, Tony, and Serge have their own small room BTW.
I want you all to put some thought into it and please comment to let me know what you'd like to do. I'm seriously considering calling up this hotel when I get enough responses. Honestly... if we have 10 people and we get two 58 dollar hotel rooms, the hotel pull will be something like 25 dollars a person. If we stop at Winco to get food to stockpile our fridges with, that'll only be something like 10 dollars more per person, since 100 dollars will most certainly get two day's worth of food for 10 people.
Oh man, I really can't wait.
