The Mayor asks me in for a meeting.

I was the principal at the elementary school. I hadn't had the position for very long, only a year or two, but already the mayor had met with me, several times.

He was kind of a scary man. Tall and with this sense of humor that always caught me off guard, but hey, he was the big guy and if he wanted to meet with me, I knew that there had to be an important reason. Even if the man was very weird, which prompted me to believe that he was definitely on drugs of some kind.

Everybody was on drugs. Even kids in my elementary school, fourth graders, even third graders were smoking pot in the halls, and fighting with each other all of the time.

Honestly, these kids had no morals nowadays and I didn't have to think very hard about where those morals came from. It came from their parents, who were probably all flower children, who did nothing but get into orgies and do drugs when they were younger, so how could they teach their children anything else?

I made my way into city hall, after leaving school a little early and putting the vice-principal in charge of things. I was confident that he would stop the fights and the drug spreadings of the ten year olds for an hour, even if he was incompetent.

The mayor's assistant showed me into his office, and I looked at him and then shook his hand, which prompted him to look at his hands and reach for a wipe.

Weird.
