ye old fandom meme

First TV show I had self-insertion fantasies about:

Probably the '90s remake of "Land of the Lost." I was really into dinosaurs, okay?

First fandom in which I interacted (online and in person) with other fans:

If you don't count fangirling over Star Wars and Buffy with my best friend...Online, XMM. In person, not until PotC.

Pairing in the first (m/m) slash fanfiction I read:

I'm pretty sure I first discovered slash though a truly awful Luke Skywalker/OMC fic on the late, great fanfix.net. Leia was virulently homophobic and even then I was like no. I didn't actually read m/m pairings until I got into HP.

First RPS/RPF I read:

I honestly don't remember. It's not something I'm into, although I've read a few here and there. Probably some U2 fic on ff.net.

First fanfiction I read that made me think, YES, this is exactly the kind of fanfiction I'd like to write...

Back to fanfix.net again (get your fix! Seriously, am I the only one who was obsessed with this site?): I remember the first fic I got really into was a epic novella-length trilogy about Luke and a decently written Mary Sue. For stuff that was actually closer to what I would eventually end up writing, some author whose name I can't remember wrote lovely Han/Leia "missing moments"-type fics with awesome banter and ~emotions~. I should try to find those on Wayback.

Pairing in the first fanfiction I wrote:

Wolverine/Rogue in XMM. I am still OTP about them to this day.

First OTP:

Pre-fandom, Zack and Kelly on "Saved by the Bell" was the first time I got those OTP tingles in my stomach. Oh Zack Morris, I loved you so! And I mostly was able to identify with Kelly because she was a brunette, so it all worked out, really. Too bad TBS moved it so I can't watch it in the mornings at the gym anymore. I tell you what, that show has not aged well.

First RPS/F OTP:

None, really.

First fannish friend I met in person:

fairestcat; I went to a party at her place when she lived in Virginia and felt very grown up.

First character I formally roleplayed:

Never done RP.

Unrelated: I don't care what anyone says, I heart Taylor Swift. Tina's cousin is a physical therapist at Walter Reed, where they get a lot of celebrities and athletes visiting, and we asked her once who was the most memorable. She said Taylor Swift was incredibly sweet and generous, staying much longer than planned to the point that her handlers were trying to hustle her out; and that she also went up to a patient's room to sing Happy Birthday to him because he was a big fan but wasn't well enough to come to the big gathering. So yeah, she really is that nice.
