FLIST I NEED YOU.

On Friday night, AVG was being dumbasstastic and claiming that iTunes had a Trojan virus. I did not realize it was a glitch in AVG, so I freaked the fuck out, uninstalled iTunes and then deleted a bunch of related files, I don't even know.

Now I'm trying to reinstall iTunes from the Apple website and it's not working.

It gives me a box that says "The feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable. Click OK to try again or enter an alternate path to a folder containing the installation package 'iTunes.mri' in the box below"

In the "Use source" drop-down box, the selected file path is C:/Users/[My Name]/AppData/Local/Apple/Apple Software Update." So I went into Add/Remove Programs and successfully uninstalled the Apple Software Update, hoping this would solve the problem somehow. The other file path in the Use Source box is "C:/Program Data/Apple Computer/Installer Cache/iTunes 8.1.1.10/"

Click OK for either of these options, it says "Accessing the feature..." but this does not work; I click Cancel and it says "The older version of iTunes cannot be removed. Contact your technical support group." The iTunes installer window then says "The installer encountered errors before iTunes could be configured. Your system has not been modified. To retry these operations at a later time, please run the installer again."

I tried creating a new folder in Program Files and installing there; tried installing it in my own folder as well. Nothing's working.

Anybody know how to fix this? Please?
