I have been incommunicado the past couple of days on account of my laptop cord breaking, which means it refuses to stay connected to the battery. Hopefully this shall be fixed or replaced soon.
But I'm really hear to write down a truly kickass dream I had last night. I don't remember the beginning well, but there was this evil overlord dude (clearly inspired by Voldemort), and a group of people who were in a secret society to defeat him. They had two teenage girls with them for some reason, played by Michelle Trachtenberg and my friend Abby. So the way to defeat this overlord was to get his heart (or Horcrux) and go through some complicated means of destroying it (obviously inspired by PotC); they were doing this, but the overlord discovered them and started killing them. Michelle and Abby were in a pool with a bunch of other kids (my dreams are often set in water for unknown reasons), and the overlord had done something to make the kids sort of out of it and sleepy, except for Michelle (because of the bit in Throne of Jade where they dope pigs to get them to fly on Temeraire, I think).
So she tries to rouse them, but it doesn't work, and the overlord is coming to get her, so she grabs the heart and runs into the woods (this is the part just before I woke up, so I remember it very vividly). Good action sequence of her running, leaping over fences, crossing water and climbing a tree, and they pass right under her without finding her. She crosses a bridge into a city, despairing because now there's no way for everyone to be free. Then there's one of those inexplicable time jumps, and you see these two women (they were famous actresses, but I can't remember which ones now) with a list, having reformed the secret society and ready to start the process all over again. And, like the last shot in the movie, a grown-up Michelle marches in and slaps the heart down on the table.
It was all very exciting and entertaining. Good show, brain!
Presently Dad and I will be off to the outlet mall, looking for a new winter coat. I have my heart set on a London Fog trenchcoat at Macys, but hopefully we'll be able to find the exact same coat cheaper at one of the outlets. If not, still - shopping!
