And then I'm not going to say how many parts are left because I seem to keep being proven wrong, but the ending is written. Oh, I should add that this gets a bit meta near the middle...

I especially loved this exchange:

Gibbs takes Billy’s cue and shakes his hand gravely. “I hear ye’ll be joinin’ us aboard the Pearl, and welcome. Tell me, now, is there anything ye’d like t’ hear about your pa?”

Billy’s expression is enough to let the old pirate know that this is, in fact, what he wants most in the world. Ignoring Elizabeth entirely, he walks to the rail under Gibbs’ arm.

It's like when your aunts start telling you stories about your mother when she was a teenager!

Yay more! I'm very much hoping that Jack's meta comes true; I'll cross my fingers and everything. Billy is precious and I just reread your note and now I'm all anxious to see Will again next time. Also a bit more about Calypso being pissed. I can be patient sometimes, so I'll wait for it. ;)

Mirth isn’t Jack’s preferred reaction when he reminds a person of their time in bed, but he’ll take it over shame and despair.

You've done a great job giving us a picture of Jack and Elizabeth's relationship and how things could work out when Will comes back. What a wonderful lot of story you've crammed into this chapter! It moves along briskly, and yet there is plenty of detail to flesh out the story. I love the little touches of humor that make the more serious undercurrents that much more real. But you've always been good at that. ;)
