The snap of the halisen rang out. “That hurt, Chidori.”
“IT SHOULD,” Kaname roared, stamping her foot down harshly. Sousuke took a step back unconsciously. “WHAT THE HELL? YOU COULD HAVE KILLED THAT MAINTENANCE WORKER.”
“Chidori, as I already explained, because we were underground during the blackout, I feared it was the first step in a terrorist assault. Thus, when I saw that man in the shadows, I reacted as my training dictated and forced him to reveal himself.”
“By ripping my earrings out?”
“As I mentioned once before, they are actually disguised flashbangs which-”
WHAP.
“... that hurt, Chidori.”
