This had gotten seriously out of hand- the chain of events that led to this romance was ridiculous to the point of excess.
To be honest, she should have put a stop to it a long time ago. But something stayed her metaphorical hand that first time, that accidental confession in the street that started that began this whole mess.
Eri had seemed... happy. In a way that no other confession had made her feel before.
Akira couldn’t help but think maybe this would be good for her- even if she didn’t wind up married and having kids with Harima (the very thought even made her chuckle), at the very least, Eri would get some experience with boys.
But somehow, some way- a love had been planted in her heart, where even Akira’s eyes couldn’t spot it until it had taken firm root.
It only built up from there, growing steadily; so many attempts Harima made for Tenma’s heart ended up winning Eri’s by mistake. She wouldn’t have been surprised if their first kiss would be the result of Harima trying to kiss Tenma and tripping onto Eri’s lips instead.
How easily everyone’s happiness could be crushed if things were brought to light.
So Akira held back a sigh whenever she saw Eri’s eyes flicker over to Harima, whose eyes were fixed firmly upon Tenma, whose eyes in turn were on Karasuma and Karasuma alone.
No matter what, this chain of ridiculous obliviousness had to go on as long as possible.
She’d make sure of that.
