Hime blinked and looked up as she withdrew her finger from his chest, a hint of confusion in her crimson eyes. “What?”
Suddenly, as if he had unconsciously spoken his last sentence, Hiro blinked as well, chuckling nervously, scratching the back of his head, cheeks flushed. “Oh... well... uh... I was just marking that as the fortieth time that...”
“That what?” Hime questioned impatiently, tapping her foot in annoyance.
“... that I died in the course of saving your life,” Hiro mumbled sheepishly.
There was a brief, awkward silence.
“Well, your work is appreciated,” Hime finally said, and walked away wordlessly.
