#703: Worldwake Prerelease!
So, today was the Worldwake Pre-Release. A group of us went over to Matt's Cavalcade and Comics and we participated in the festivities.
There were something like 45 people at the tournament and we went six rounds of Sealed without playoff, thankfully. I went 6-0 with a White/Black aggro with a small Vampire motif and won 30 packs.

I feel like I'm missing some cards... someone must have swiped some :( Anyway, I popped some of my prize packs, the only thing of note was the Dragonmaster Outcast. I've sold some to make some of the money I spent on the draft back.
Two games that really stuck with me. First, was with a guy named Paul, who was really awesome to play with. We joked around and had some witty banter while playing. This stuff might be one of my favorite parts of playing magic. Being goofs with other people. The second, was my final round. In the last game, he sticks that Novablast Wurm, attacks and blows up everything. I play Join the Ranks and stall for the turn. He doesn't play anything in second main. On my turn, I top deck Gatekeeper of Malakir, toss it down and then eventually ramp a Stair Expedition to bring back the Archon and Anowon he killed earlier in the match and own face. Also, there were two other games where I stuck the Boomerang and both players I was facing scoffed at my card choice. I promptly used it to get the one damage I needed to finish the game :P
All in all, this was really freaking awesome for me. Made bank via packs and packed some spendy cards in the Dragonmaster and the WB fetch. Also, the games I played were all exciting.
