Well, what a day it has been so far. I woke up to Doug calling me about tomorrow's lesson. Got a par of pants on over my pajamas, some boots, and a sweatshirt, and ventured out into the sleet and grabbed a shovel. Did some of that for about a half an hour, just enough time to waltz over to Mr. Igo's funeral. Got my nice coat and hat and walked the short distance to St. Mary's Cemetary. But oh, they just learned today that he was a veteran. I asked the director if he would like a taps player. He said yes so I ran all the way home, got my horn up in my room, and ran all the way back. Played taps. It sounded pretty good except for a few cold/moisture-induced squeaks. I counted two total. Funny how I was one of the only band members there, besides Chelsey Davekos, even though Mr. Igo was one of the biggest supporters of the music program in Foxborough. Way to represent, everyone!! By not showing up to one of our biggest supporters, you make the band look so important. "It was too cold and wet." Whaa. At least somebody has consideration. Now I understand some of you may have gone to the wake so you are obviously exempt. The rest of you, especially the couple of high-ranking board members (Kenzie excluded) should be ashamed. Deny it if you will, but it doesn't change anything. Nobody will listen toy uo if you don't listen to them.
