(no subject)

hmmm, I haven't updated this thing in a while, so while I'm waiting on my friends, I'll tell everyone how life is here at Cal.

I moved in last Saturday into a triple mini-suite. My room is GIGANTIC and I have all this extra storage for all my stuff. Me and my suitemates have our own bathroom which is soooo nice. It's kind of awkward though, because we're in a dorm with a lot of upperclassmen, since they get priority for the suites. Anyways, me and one of my roommates moved in on Saturday, and just kind of chilled out. She's Mexican and kind of crazy, but fun and we get along well, so that's cool. My second roommate finally moved in on Sunday and brought about 8 people to help her move in which was a little scary. Her best friend is here though, so she's never in the dorm. She's the sorority girl and a little naive, but still a sweet girl, and we get along too. The girls in the double next to us are also really cool, and they're usually here, so we can hang out a lot.

I've mainly just been doing the generic welcome week activities (getting extra dorm stuff, getting my bus pass, books etc.). It's kind of hard to meet people in the suite situation since a lot of people don't leave their doors open, but I've met some cool kids and we hang out pretty regularly. I've already been into San Francisco twice which is cool as hell. It takes like 20 minutes to get there from Berkeley, so I get a feeling I'll be going there a lot. If anyone feels the need to come visit, just give me a call, and I promise you, you will not regret it. Everyone here is incredibly spirited and just seems to be glad to be here. Even the guys in the frats aren't completely braindead, which is a wierd change. There are random acapella groups walking around singing on campus and in the dorm courtyards, and the entire city just feels alive. The city itself is amazing with so many cool little shops and insane hobos who yell "happy happy" at people. Oh, and I've already busted out the banana costume.

I really miss everybody, and livejournal isn't a good enough medium to describe Berkeley, but I'll be in touch with people regularly. If you want to send any mail to me, send it to:
