Dear Friends on LIVEJOURNAL.
Ha-ha. Wow. Livejournal.
Whoo, I didn't think I was too far gone with posting. My last post was in May, which is pretty suprising.
Uh... I'm sorry?
Really.
Well a couple things.
Saturday, my mother got married. She was in a most beautful dress with her hair up. She didn't want a train for some reason. The wedding was held on the grounds of a camp that the family of Don, my mother's Fiancee', owned. It was held inside a tent that was in the shape of a chapel with plastic windows supposing to look like stain glass. It was a cool day, spare for the chance of rain. It didn't rain in the Irish Hills, and we're glad.
I walked my mother down the aisle, along the white roller, and stopped in front of the "arch" to pass her on to my Grandfather, who walked her about three feet forward. [He has the shakes] Diane, my mother's sister, and Charles, Don's bother, were the Best Woman and the Best Man, respectively. They stood up there with them. The pastor who held the reading and ceremony was actually our old pastor of the Church from the early ninties. It was nice seeing and speaking to him again.
My family was well dressed up in Mega-formals, as the other side was dressed like it was Easter at the retirement home. This was kinda okay, as it was pretty warm as it got later. I wouldn't want people passing out. But what threw up huuuge red flags in my eyes, is the following: There were visitors who were dressed up... actually, no, they didn't dress up at all; they came as they were. I mean, some people!!! Who wears blue jeans, tanktops and grubby hoodies to a wedding? Their cleanest dirty clothes? Yes... this is still in Michigan. [Or at least I hold Michigan to that high standard. -.-' -sigh-]. Oh well, where ever there is free food, right? Feed your dozen relatives and spawnlings with someone elses' wedding.
It was a nice wedding, and I wish it would have lasted longer. I got to see some new in-laws in addition to the ones that I already know. Really, this family, the Sowers, just doubled the size of our own, if not by more. So I have many many wonderful names to learn and many lines of relation to draw out. I met, who I presume to be a cousin-in-law, Jenna, who is very nice and enthusiastic. She's about my age, and we hung out a little bit during the dinner and reception. So wow, a brand new family. Ha, that's a lot of Christmas cards.
Love,
Jere
