Come to think of it... What's today?

Happy Halloween!
I wish I could've posted more between the last time and now, because SOOO much has happened. I have quite a bit of story to tell. As much as I do, I can summarize it all into something that should do it justice.

On Friday the 7th, I got another call from [Army] Bob. It is true that he was kicked out of his home. It is true that he has been staying with friends... and now... It is true he can no longer stay at those places anymore. He called me up to see if he could stay at my home... as he is now homeless. Eh, there wasn't much I could do about it all personally. I did the christian thing and considered it. The decision was my grandparent's, and they consented to have him stay. That is, for a limited, limited time.. Sunday we went to his father's house, his old home, and retrieved some of his things. His dad was very kind and yeah, hospitable. He even offered Bob some hot food. I can't see why them two cannot continue living under one roof. Who cares about Rent? I really think there's more to what's going on than what has been said.
So Weeks past on, Friday's past on, 14, 21, and then the 28th. Rob recieved a call from the local armory for the Guard and his superior officer told him that his name was on the list to be shipped out to Iraq. Holy freaking cow, he's going to the Sand Box.
There were tons of mixed emotions. There were also some suprising twists in how some of the things turned out. I'm specifically talking about how his father pulled a number of strings for him to go finally see his fiancee'. His dad rented a car and allowed Bob to drive his. His dad gave him a fixed amount of money to spend on food and other things. His dad also gave him a Shell gasoline card. His dad also let him spend some time at his old place before he left. Egad. All this. What is going on?
Okay, he went to Ohio to see his Fiancee. Speed up a weekend and you get today's events. He returned and he had some disparaging news. Another state unit got ahead of his unit in line, and they were the ones to ship to Iraq. Basically, we have him as our guest for longer than expected. My mother was present and made a big deal about getting a job, which I agree to, but would argue about the difficulty of obtaining... these so-called jobs, thereof. I'm going to school currently, and my time should be head first into the books and papers. However in light of Bob's presence, I have been distracted, and I have been falling behind in little ways. I have about 100 pages reading to catch up and some worksheets. Keep in mind this is not a grade-based course, even though our main prof jokes about doing things and participating for a "grade." All ten of us, including himself, laugh about it. Anyway, enough about my course and whatnot, I would like some opinions and comments on what to do next. I mean, it's November. October flew by like a witch on a vaccum cleaner. I need an arrow painted with black letters, "Yo" grabbing my attention and telling me where to go next.

[Heavy Props go out to Will Wrase for being awesome about staying happy, more than raking in teh cash. Additional props garnered out to Mantey for also being awesome. A big healthy dose of props to Rachel Faye hoping they will bring her courage in the coming days. A big prop in the form of Vash The Stampede to Kevin A for his fire-alarm wakeup.
