Adam: A cairn terrier who once belonged to a child rapist and murderer, Levi Johnson. Adam was often used as bait to lure Johnson's victims, but has since found a happier life as Lilith's dedicated companion. He was rescued by her after she dispatched Johnson during one of her first missions and rarely leaves her side, except to stay with Ana. He loves to swim and is very happy to have be living by the water now. His favorite activities include chasing squirrels, playing tug-o-war with Tarah's newest crochet project, and napping under the kitchen chairs.
The Lord: The Father, Creator of the Universe... God. No one knows how He came into existence (it's assumed He's just always been, which is easier than trying to think about it). What is known is that He became so lonely that His heart literally burst from His chest, and from the pieces, the angels were born. They all lived happily for what is presumed to be millennia (time didn't exactly exist then), until one day, God disappeared from Paradise. Eventually, three intrepid angels found Him in a distant corner, reaching through a tear in the fabric of their realm, creating... well, Creation. The Universe as we know it, physics and all. Those three angels were soon named the Messenger, the Functionary, and the Keeper, and formed the Triumvirate, the top notch of the Oligarchy. With them in place, God could sit back and interfere (or not, as He mostly likes to) with His new Experiment. He is an incredibly curious deity, omniscient and omnipotent, but often preferring to let events play out as chance would have them, just to see what the outcome is. His philosophy is that if it goes wrong, He can fix it later.
Lydia Gray: An ambitious and sharp-tongued woman, Lydia was a lifelong lover of literature who found her way into the business. By the time she was thirty, she was a greatly respected (or feared, depending on who you asked) literary agent, managing several best selling authors. One in particular had caught her eye, an idealistic success story named Joseph Harding. The two began a casual relationship that grew more serious as time progressed, but eventually fell apart when Joseph spiraled into drug use and Lydia became pregnant. She raised their daughter, Ana, on her own, allowing on the occasional, brief visit with Joseph. At the age of thirty-seven, she was murdered by the Messenger, posing as a human.
