Particles from a Different Time

I was in a very old cathedral, the details aren't quite vivid and much was going on, I didn't have the time to establish where I was exactly. This world was ending, the ground was quaking and the church's pillars and parts of the ceiling were crumbling.

I yelled for the others to stay, but they ran outside for their lives, only to fall off the edge.

Inside, there was a choir joined by the rest who stayed. Half of them filled the steps of the altar, half stood by the entrance facing the aisle. They were chanting the end of all things, it sounded haunting. I was the lead Cantor, the solo voice on top of the chorus of voices, I was narrating it all in a language I didn't understand. Unlike them, I wasn't on my feet, I floated about them, and around the pillars and walls of the cathedral.

A man stood in the middle of the aisle, tall, dressed in a black suit that went all the way to the floor, covering his feet. He looked Hispanic, or maybe I was mistaken. He had thick eyebrows and black hair. I encircled him as I sang the last verses of the chant. The choir watched in fear, their voices started to tremble and break apart. The ceiling was about to fall on us. One big chunk made its way to the ground and then...

An angel clad in silk as blue as the ocean dove in from the sky... I say "dove" because she wasn't using her wings. She wasn't flying. It appeared as if she was having a hard time getting to the ground, like some force was pushing her back up. Her eyes were fixed on the man standing at the center of the church. She struggled and "swam" closer to him using her arms. In one mighty stroke she came near and wrapped her legs around his waist, her left arm grabbed his right shoulder, then she held his nape with her right hand, pulled him close, and gave him a deep kiss.

The force pulled her back again, but they managed to grab each other's arms. She was pulled into the sky, and him with her.

I sustained the last note for as long as I could and the church finally fell down. Boulders crushed the choir... They all died. I was trapped between two pillars that fell on top of each other. Unharmed, but unable to escape. And then everything turned black.
