TCE is the Red Menace of the R/A fandom LOL.
Now that I've actually read it, instead of just commenting from sheer excitement, I can say something coherent? Or not....
I love this one, same as all the rest. Especially the party going on at Russia's house and America starting to be able to look past his own jealousy and think "and he would be happy--Russia wasn't happy often enough". Reading that set the whole tone of this chapter for me and it was a sweet mature d'awww. Also? Russia relaxed enough in his inner sanctuary to have his scars showing and letting America climb on him and touch him (almost) like that? HOT ♥

They really have come a long way, you know? Like, yeah, they're still dumbasses, but they're dumbasses who have been through a lot together, and they're really, honestly doing their best here. America is still immature and kinda self-centered, and Russia is stil kind ofl "ARE YOU REJECTING ME, YOU'RE REJECTING ME AREN'T YOU," but now they know these things about each other, and themselves, and they're trying to work around their faults. You know, like in real grown-up relationships.

Okay. Not so hard.
Then I imagined Russia in swim trunks, on the beach.
Still fine, although man, he would glow white, it would look like a shark had flopped up to shore and died pale belly up in a lounge chair.
Then I was like, man, he would need to put on so much sunblock, wouldn't he? And then I had a happy time imagining America applying that for a while--
--And then I imagined that Russia had forgotten the sunblock and the day after his day at the beach he was all "D=" and lobster-red while America stares at him, caught halfway between horror and hilarity. And Russia's all "I don't know what to do, why does my skin hurt? Why does the sun hate me? D="
This comment has no unifying point but I felt like there was enough marrow in it to provide some nutrition to a starving soul, so here you go.

Man, why didn't anybody tell me about the army? My plans for world domination were so complicated, there were levers and pulleys, it was insane.
